chrisdunn77
I was going to start using a charity along with my commission bulk candy machines. some locations have been asking me about charity. from everything i have learned the best one seems to be NCCS. but i had another idea, i would rather give to my local community. as far as i can tell my local charities do not have a vending program. do you guys see any problem with me picking a local charity or organization maybe like a school. i could print up business cards and place them in the machine that say "a proceed of this machine is donated to xyz" or something like that. I'm not looking to scam anyone, i live in an area that needs a little help. so i really rather keep the money local. i would send that charity or organization a check every couple months. What do you think? or what should i do different? as always thanks for your help.
chowchowjailboss
I selected a local group that is well know in my area and I am very pleased with the results. Another advantage is the locale group will help you with contacts for placements.

dapreachaman
with all that is going on in the economy a local food bank or mission would be a great place to give. We have just lost a food bank that was feeding 1200 people a month so we are struggling to make that happen through the church and other groups. if you can find a local group not only will it be helpful in the ways listed it will also give you a way to direct people who are in need to help. chrisdunn77
that's what i was thinking. i think what i will do is make up a card to put inside the machines that say "a proceed of this machine is donated to local charities in and around XZY" and use the cities name. that way every couple months i can send a check into the charity that needs it the most depending on the time of year. chowchowjailboss
Yes, I made my own Charity Sticker that reads "We support ----------------- "and has a picture pulled off of the internet.
lurtsman
Yes, I made my own Charity Sticker that reads "We support ----------------- "and has a picture pulled off of the internet. If that picture is a licensed image of the charity you might be in the gray area. Using only words, or an image you create yourself, may be safer. The Mage
You do want to be careful with making up your own stickers. If you don't have approval from the charity, there could be problems. Stating that you are a supporter of a certain charity, as stated above, might be OK, but check with a lawyer just in case on what would be acceptable, or even simply contact the charity for approval, which most likely would be fine with them, since it will result in more for their charity. That is what I did. I spoke to the Director and the development team at the charity and finally got them on board. They allow me use their logo on a label I made up and I have a signed letter with their blesssing(permission) in case someone has doubts.
chowchowjailboss
I did check with the local charity and had them approve the sticker. In short, they are very happy if I send them $100 per month or $1 per month. They know I can switch charities or send them nothing at all. I have no contract and they are getting something for nothing.
