Paying Commisions & Getting Locations

I've been in the bulk candy vending business for a month now and I have a couple of questions. First, I have five machines but I have only one placed in a location, a barbershop I give the owner 10% of the machine and wanted to know do I give him that 10% when the machine is empty or every 3-4 months when I come and empty and service the machine. Another question i had was I looking for locations myself and wanted to know if getting connected with a charity would help me to locate my machines because store owner's are asking for 50% of the machine and I am not going higher than 20% of an triple head bulk candy machine. Any suggestions or answers for me.

Welcome to the board.  A few things I can tell you to your questions:

First, I pay commissions every time I service, in cash at the moment.  I think you will find you 10% low. If you can get away with it, fine.  If I was to guess, I would say 25% to 35% is average (I may have a few disagree).

I'm sure this will get some people fired up.  But I do 50% of net.  I take the gross.  I subtract 24% to 26% off the top.  I then split it 50/50.  I make it very clear on a collection sheet what I do.  I'm not out to screw the location.

Charities have pluses and minuses.  Read through the forum, you'll se peoples opinions.

Good Luck and Welcome

If a store wanted 50% I would explain my costs and time. Then I would offer then 50%  of the NET. Others have suggested a sliding scale system, where the more it earns the higher the %.
