tooldini
My first machine and after 2.5 weeks in a kinda ghetto apartment location. I went to check it to see if anyone had been using it. Took the globe off and seen enough quarters to fill a coffee mug. Just guessing cause I didn't take them or count but much more than I thought. I would guess at least $20 so I am HAPPY. The lady there says the kids are having a competition with it to see who can get the most shots so far the record is 4. Nam you were correct these machines are AWESOME. BluePlate
Sort of wonder why one of the Chinese manufacturers don't make one of these things. They seem to be a wanted item
tooldini
I wonder the same thing, they copy everything else
Jax Snacks
The answer to what any machine will do is, "It Depends"! I can say that a hoops machine will usually outperform a traditional machine 2 to 4 times. So, a single head in that location may have only done about 5 or 6 bucks. Good find! And a good suggestion there by nam (lol) By the way, what happened to nam? Jax
tooldini
Yeah I have seen him on here lately I hope he is OK
dkochan
Another plus of Shooting Hoops is that you can vend 27mm super balls. Therefore, you can place a Shooting Hoops machine in a location that already has a gumball machine.
Jax Snacks
Yea, the Chinese should get in on this, but they would probably mess it up with poor quality. Found this supplier that does interactive machines, but they are probably way too expensive. http://www.pinball4u.com/gumball.htm Jax

davidsurvz
So where do you get these machines from?? I used to see them a lot more but I don't see them much anymore for sale. Just occasionally on Ebay or from some random suppliers. Was there a major biz-op floating around for a while with these things?
tooldini
I don't know about that but you can still buy them here http://www.gumballs.com/shhoguma.html I think someone on here bought one and they don't have the beaver coinmech anymore
davidsurvz
I saw that link earlier today (before you posted this when I was looking around for "shootin hoops") and it says under the pic "this item is no longer available."
Jax Snacks
The company is no longer in business. The company was not a biz-op, but they outsourced the sales effort which turned into a biz-op and the machines sold for $500 - $600 each. I guess the R&D and manufacturing setup (the molds) are very expensive for interactive machines and they have to recover that cost somehow. They are getting harder to find on the web. There are some sellers holding their ground and asking $200 for them. So if you really really want one, you can still get it if you are willing to pay the price. Looks like these may soon become a collectors item! Jax
davidsurvz
WOW, That is almost $400.00 with shipping. I guess if you had the right location (as with anything) it would be worth it.
Mercury
That link says that they are no longer available. Merc (who is STILL looking for some Shootin Hoops!!!!) Jax Snacks
You would think that some entrepreneur would jump on this. The main body of the hoops machine is mostly plastic and should be somewhat easy to duplicate. If they could come up with a reasonably priced machine (say in the low $100's without the stand) based on a reliable metal machine like NW or Beaver, then they would have a good customer base here.
