My first machine and after 2.5 weeks in a kinda ghetto apartment location. I went to check it to see if anyone had been using it. Took the globe off and seen enough quarters to fill a coffee mug. Just guessing cause I didn't take them or count but much more than I thought. I would guess at least $20 so I am HAPPY. The lady there says the kids are having a competition with it to see who can get the most shots :) so far the record is 4. Nam you were correct these machines are AWESOME.

The answer to what any machine will do is, "It Depends"!  I can say that a hoops machine will usually outperform a traditional machine 2 to 4 times.  So, a single head in that location may have only done about 5 or 6 bucks.  Good find!  And a good suggestion there by nam (lol)  ;)

By the way, what happened to nam?

Another plus of Shooting Hoops is that you can vend 27mm super balls.  Therefore, you can place a Shooting Hoops machine in a location that already has a gumball machine.

Or add the superball hoops to one of your own existing gumball hoops location for double the fun!

The company is no longer in business.  The company was not a biz-op, but they outsourced the sales effort which turned into a biz-op and the machines sold for $500 - $600 each.  I guess the R&D and manufacturing setup (the molds) are very expensive for interactive machines and they have to recover that cost somehow.  They are getting harder to find on the web.   There are some sellers holding their ground and asking $200 for them.  So if you really really want one, you can still get it if you are willing to pay the price.  Looks like these may soon become a collectors item!

You would think that some entrepreneur would jump on this.  The main body of the hoops machine is mostly plastic and should be somewhat easy to duplicate.  If they could come up with a reasonably priced machine (say in the low $100's without the stand) based on a reliable metal machine like NW or Beaver, then they would have a good customer base here.
