Jarola
I've looked at a lot of lists, and eventually came up with my own. I've used Bing Collections to compile a list of 100 businesses in my area that I plan to target this month. The categories I chose to target are: Auto parts supply stores Auto repair shops Barber shops You can read the entire post at http://nextstepvending.blogspot.com/2009/10/finding-right-locations.html Regards, Jacob
davidsurvz
Sounds like a good game plan. I hope it goes well. The Auto dealerships service areas also usually do well from my understanding.
Jarola
Good luck Jarola, but, I would put restaraunts at the top of my list. Hi Kelly: Thanks for the feedback. The list is alphabetical and the entire list is on my blog and website. There are about 20 categories currently, with several restaurant types among them. The page is similar to my sources page in that you can rate your experience with the various categories so we can get an overall feel for the stronger choices. You'll find it at http://www.nextstepvending.com/business-types-to-target-for-bulk-vending-locations.php I'd had a request previously that I cross-post my blog posts here, but don't want to fill up the forum with all that stuff, so thought I'd just throw in a couple of tidbits and anyone interested could read the entire item on my blog. Sorry for the confusion. Regards, Jacob
davidsurvz
Hey Jacob, Nice website. Some of you guys really have done a good with building your websites. Maybe someday when I grow up I'll have my own vending website. You have some good ideas in pursuing growth for your business. Good luck!
Jax Snacks
Consider demographics as well and not just location type. My motto is "People Flow with Average Joe, but Not too Old AND Kids are Always King". You obviously need good people traffic. But upscale and supper low income areas usually don't do well for vending machines. Neither do elderly or senior citizen locations. Middle class and working class areas seem to work best with vending. Of course there will always be an exception. Do don't fall into the trap that all hair salons, for example, are going to be great. However if an upscale location has lot of kids, then go for it. Their parents usually can't resist the request for lots of quarters - it shuts the brats up for a little while!
