Battle of the Mints! Refreshing Warfare!

As part of my recent route acquisition there are 2 DI/Certs machines on location. And they seem to be doing better then some of the other spots. So now I have questions!

#1 Where do you guys order your DI/Certs in bulk?

#2 How many are you vending for .25?

#3 Is the wheel setups any different then 1800/china triples? If so is there a way to rig the triples to vend these?

And now the battle of the mints!:

Cost vs sales: High profile mints (ie Dentyne Ice, Certs, Altoids) Vs less known mints (ie Polar mints, and polar mint gum, no name brand mints)

What are you vending? How much are you saving with no-name stuff? How much sales are you losing for non-name? I am thining of putting a mint selection into my triples now, so I want to know if I should stock up on polar mint tabs, or Dentyne Ice and Certs.

Has anyone found Altoids cheap enough for bulk sales?

If you contact Polecat on the forum, that is Steve from Superpro. They aren't a biz-op they will sell just the product or just the machines or both. They also make a good triple machine.

You can call them and find out the price for a bag of DI it is about $36 or so plus shipping and will generate between $115 to $125 worth of gross revenue at 25 cents per vend. If you can get away with 2 or 3 in caps for 50 cents per vend it becomes much more lucrative.

As far as I know they are the best source for DI.

2 for a quarter on the Ice, 1.1" acorns.  Steve at Superpro is the only way to go(@$40 bag, less if you buy more).  Don't have too much info on the Polar, but Beer gave a review on the Sam's website, you can read it there.  Perhaps you already did.

We have a dentist's office with the Ice.  They seem to like it in the office as opposed to the waiting room.  I think the hygienists like to chew it before they breath down on you and go to town on your teeth!  Not making tons of $, but some is better than none.  We also sell it at a hot dog stand and large Mexican restaurant, they are new, will post some results in a month or two.

They are not dedicated machines, 1 800 and singles with GB wheels modified as suggested in the other popular thread.

Thought I would work on a pitch for the dentists and hygienists promoting DI and sugar free gum.  Maybe they can shell out a quarter for each patient as they are leaving the the office and tell them it's good for their teeth, only 5 calories and no sugar!  Try some...

What do you think?
