Cheap vending locators

Has anyone ever found a cheap vending locator? I’m on a strict budget and could use a great deal! I would love to find a locator that would take $10.00 to locator a Vendstar 3000’s. I have 2 Vendstar 3000 that need homes ASAP. I would pay through PayPal and would be a repeat customer. So if anyone knows somebody or would like to make some extra cash please let me no.

You could contact some of the locators and see if they would take payments. I doubt you'll get locations for $10.00 each.

You might be able to talk the locators to do telemarketing training in your area so they could have the less experienced, new locators trying out their skills for you for $10 each.

and tell them you wouldn't expect the locator to guarantee the locations for that amount.

you know when you go locating yourself it will cost you 0$ and is great practice and experience getting used to hearing "no"

I no it would save $$$ doing it myself, the problem is i already work 6 days a week for my current job. that's why I'm getting into this. I'm hoping to make enough to one day do this full time. so for now i have to look for all the good deals and time saving things i can.

if you or anyone wants to locate for me for 10.00 a Vendstar Machine, just PM me i would never give out the name of the person(s) locating for me.

If you are that strapped for funds, you should go the cheap route and network with people.  You know people who know people who might be able to point you to a location that would accept your machine.  Go to your church, or your kids' school club and approch them as a fundraiser, etc.

One thing I have learned in this business thus far is that there are zero people that will locate for 10$ per machine and if you find one that does stay away because they will just steal your money and never give you the locations.

For $10 bucks you will either get bogus locations, resold locations, industrial pit locations or slammed locations.  No one on the planet will do it that cheap.  I once knew someone that would do it for $20, but the locations will either bogus or industrial crap.

Agreed with general opinions. The goal should not be to look for a cheap locator, but instead one worth what they charge. For 10 bucks, you will get crap. I'm huge on being cheap, however when it comes to dealing with locators, I understand that they only make money off selling vendors locations. I work with them to make it as little work for them as possible, and make deals we can both be happy with. I would not insult either of the companies I work with by offering them 10$ per location.

You can come up with more then $10.  You might think you can't, but you can.

Take a close look at your budget.  If you don't have a budget, make a budget.  It actually takes a few months before you get your budget under full control.  (Practice makes perfect.)  You would be surprised at the number of people who say getting on a budget was like getting a raise.

Anyway, cutting out the junk from your budget can create a surprising amount of money.  If you don't know where every dollar goes, then those dollars are going to go away.  This is not just an important personal finance rule, but a key to business success.

Have a garage sale.  Sell stuff on eBay.  Blackmail your boss.

OK, don't do that last one.

The point is that you will be surprised how much you can come up with if you put your mind to it.

Another issue is if you don't have time to locate, when will you have time to manage your route?

you guys bring up a lot of great points. who would you recommend that charges a reasonable amount with a good track record. i like the idea of using a locator because of there knowledge of what makes a good location, so i am willing to give one a try.

Rob at Kickstart is not expensive at only $32 per location for a double. I've never used him before, but there are lots of reviews for him. Many are good, with a few bad ones sprinkled in there. They are less expensive than Midwest at $45 per location. I know $32 is triple your $10, but you should be able to have that paid off in 2-3 months or less.

the problem i see is the time it would take to regain your investment. kickstart charges 41.99 to locate a vendstar 3000 (that's what i use) then the cost of the machine about 65.00. for now most of my locations make about 15.00 a month so it would take 6 months just to break even. now you have to worry if that location will keep it for that long. unless they could find you better spots. I'm still not "sold" i like the idea of there services but am not sure if it really works in our favor. have anyone of you guys that have been in vending for more than a couple years still use locator's or is this a newbie mistake?

I have been fortunate at times to get great deals, and free stuff (including locations.) It doesn't happen to me all the time but it does happen. The main thing is to stay networked and to always let people know what your needs /wants / interests are. You can find good deals and free stuff occasionally but the rest of the time you just have to spend some money. Just look for the best deals you can get and take advantage of them when you can afford them. There are always deals popping up on all sorts of vending stuff. You have to keep your eyes / ears open and let others know what you need / want.

You might be able to find some high school / college kids willing to locate for a $10 a location finders fee........ (just a thought.)

I like to think of locators this way. When we need a new job, it isn't a task that we are normally faced with. There are professionals who work 8-10 hours a day 5 days a week to help people get a better paying job than they could find on their own. Now, we all have the ability to go out and find our own job, but sometimes it is good to get a little help every now and then. Like locating, you can do it yourself. Sometimes locators have contacts and the experience to get locations that we wouldn't be able to get on our own. Some vendors use locators 100% of the time, some never use them. Some use them everyonce in a while, but I think everyone in vending should at least do some self-locating.

Steve, you peaked my interest too. $1.00 for a professionally secured location?

Seems a fair price for locations that have been pulled due to bad sales :P

65$ for a vendstar is on the expensive side. Robs locations are not. I have received many good locations from locators. They are not a little better than me at it, they are massively better. There is no comparison. I get some locations myself, and there are times when it is the right choice. Long term though, I expect to pay kickstart and midwest very handsomely for the service they provide. I am not greedy, they are members of my team, and I will treat them accordingly. So long as they don't try to rip me off (and neither have) I will happily continue to pay them for their work. In general, my locations are paid off in about 3 months. (triples earning 25$ or so, putting 15$ in profit into my pocket) My advice, and you can take it or leave it, but look for the big picture. If you were in my vending territory, your terrible 10$ locator is going to get smashed going up against my professional crew. I would have better locations, and guarantees. Those guarantees are great. I want my business to be fun and stress free. I had a real dud of a location. I had bought it from Rob. I e-mailed him and asked for a replacement. About two weeks later he blew me away with my replacement location. The place looks like it will do 40$+ per month on a double head. Might do as high as 50 or 60. So in that case, my machine was sitting out doing nothing for a few months, but I paid for a good location, so he found me a great one. Sure, it is 5 months from the initial payment before my location is paid off, but month after that the machine is paid off also with a profit. After that, every month is bringing in great profits.

If you want to locate yourself, good for you. That's great, and some people find it very rewarding. Read the post about budgeting again. Either figure out how to find enough time for locating, or enough money for a guaranteed location, or sell your machine because vending is not the right choice for you.
