Starbucks VIA

Did anyone try the free cup of Starbucks VIA this weekend?  If you don't know Starbucks developed an instant coffee called VIA.  I stopped in my local Starbucks and it was pretty darn good.  Anyone think this could any impact on OCS?

I did not try it, but if I'm not mistaken the price point is about .80 a cup. I don't think it would impact OCS at all at this price point. I do think I will try some on my next camping trip though. Its tough to find a drinkable instant coffee. Can I still be roughing it if I'm drinking starbucks

Funny you mentioned it, I saw them the other day while I was waiting for a cup of joe and wondered about the vending opportunities since the single service "box" seems like the right size for a narrower spiral... for those a/c with snack machines, but no OCS.  Didn't get to try a sample, but assumed it would be good enough quality.  Figured I'd see it at Sam's club coffee aisle some day soon and consider it then.

You are correct about the price point.  I assume if this is successful, others will follow at a better price point.  Also, I would not put it past Starbuck to offer an attractive price to vendors or other OCS people.
