wevend
If you had a foil sticker made that said GPS CHIP INSIDE or something like that deter theft?
davidsurvz
It might. You never know, some criminals are very easily deterred and some aren't. The whole point is to "harden the target" so they will be less inclined to "hit " your machine. The reality is though if they really want to get your machine they will attempt it. antoniocinisi
if I was a seasoned thief ,and being the gambler that I am I would assume you probably arent looking at your gps system at that moment tracking that paticular machine and I would go for it.take it to the ally bash it ,empty it, and run, leaving your gps(or not) equiped machine in the alley.not to mention that even if u are at your gps screen every minute of the day u still need to get there in time. my answer is this wont work with a seasoned thief but could with college kids playing a prank

The Mage
People who steal are generally very short term thinkers. For most of them, that is not an immediate enough risk. As much as I hate thieves, and want them to get theirs, I have to say expect the stealing, and live with it. In fact budget it in. I would think the best defense is having them work to get any money out, and then find that what they found really wasn't worth the effort. I would think the average vending machine break-in results in between $5 and $15. And all in quarters. (This is only my assumption.) But if you ever catch a person, or more specifically the cops, then bring the wrath of god down upon them. Press charges, then sue them for the cost of the machine, the replacement machine, lost product, and time spent dealing with all of this. But that's just me. Mercury
How about I just take them outside to the parking lot and beat their butt? In my retail stores, when I catch people stealing, they have a choice: They can either be arrested (and I've had people arrested for stealing $1 items!) OR They can go into the parking lot with me. In 12 years, not ONE scumbag has wanted to go into the parking lot! NOT ONE! Out of probably 30-40 people I've busted, they all want to be arrested, instead of taking their chances with me! Imagine that! Of course, it does help that I'm 6'3" and 350 lbs. Just once........maybe......it'll happen.........JOY! Merc People who steal are generally very short term thinkers.
