allknowing4ever
Does a Toy Vending Company need a website that is run by having Toys vending machines placed at locations really necessary? If so, I mean what is the goal of having the website and who is your targeted audience? At what cost in U.S. dollars does it become too much for the benefits IE what is the max your willing to pay? Basically what I'm saying is what are the Pros and Cons of having a company website. Billy
The Mage
I can see a website being of benefit to a full line, but I just don't see the benefit for bulk. Now if anyone has evidence of the opposite, I will eat my words. Now on the other hand, I don't think it really costs very much today, as long as you don't go overboard. So the argument would be that even if there is no reason to have one, there is also no reason not to have one.
West Coast Vend LLC
Billy, A web site is a good thing for any business. It gives customers a place to go to check you out and see the services and products that your company sells. You may never get a customer from it but it is just the right thing to do now-a-days. It's so inexpensive to build and run. VENDiscuss.com can design and run your website on their servers for a very small fee. You can also check on-line for free website building software companies. The software is free and there is a small cost for registering your website name. Gary
allknowing4ever
Gary, I agree with you that it does create the impression that your business is more professional. I am wondering what else are the benefits besides image. Mage, That raised an interesting question that came to my mind. How many vendors that have big routes have no website? Are there any on this forum? Billy
tooldini
I would say get one if you don't have one. I also run a windshield repair biz and have a yellow pages add. I only get like 6 or 7 jobs a year but it just makes you look more professional. It is the same for the internet now a days. I also have a website that I can't claim any work from but I think it is good and very cheap to have. I only pay 15.00 a year for the name and 15.00 a year for the hosting at directnic.com . I built the site myself so that was free. I will be creating a site for my vending biz soon just because people expect it now.
Faith Vending
If you self locate you should probably get one; potential locs do ask.
allknowing4ever
Faith, Doesn't every successful vending business operator do locating for themselves. I mean I thought that was this business was all about locating and locating yourself. I don't think I know anybody here who hasn't tired locating their own machines at one point in time or another. I think that even if you didn't locate machines yourself. I'm pretty sure the website would come in handy for your locator to use to help ascertain the locations for your business. Faith Vending
Billy, Yeah most successful operators locate themselves when time permits but a good locator is priceless and worth the fee. I am going to get a website soon because it is just a good idea for the reasons you stated. If you locate yourself you have to be ready for rejection but when you get the yes it is a real motivator. I think locating goes in streaks; the last 6 weeks everyone has said no to me but I still have many leads and it is just a numbers game. I do not like locators telling me this dog loc they got me is worth a try when I know it is not going to work. I really can't recommend any locator right now but others might. allknowing4ever
Faith, Where I'm at locating is not that hard. There are a lot of new businesses that are constantly being setup up all the time. Not only that but a lot of these businesses are run by people who didn't learn English as their first language. Being trilingual really helps. Billy
