ghostridergt
I've read that several of you guys have 1" toys at charity locations which I think is pretty cool. I have a couple of questions about this. Are you guys just using 1" gumball wheels in a section of a double or triple head? About how much does it cost to fill a normal head (oak vista for examples sake), and how many caps will they hold? Do you have to buy a bagillion bags from A&A, brand and the gang, or can a small guy like me get his feet wet with just enough product to fill a single machine? Thanks in advance everyone! dperry
For me, I use single head machines, mostly oak, a&a or NW's. Oaks have a gumball/capsule wheel that works for both types. But if you are dispensing acorns, then you will need to remove the riser. NW needs a specific cap wheel and a specific gumball wheel. I found that when I fill a vista 300 with acorn caps, I can fit 120 caps when using one of A&A's large live displays like the sticky stuff mix, the glitz and glam rings or the urbanzees, cool and clear rings, etc. Those displays take up alot of room. I would suggest using a product with a shrink wrap display like the Ninja Fighters or the stretchy pests. They take up alot less room. I can tell you that buying one bag of product is going to cost you double because of the shipping costs. A&A's 1" sticky things mix is only about $12.95, but the shipping will be about $15.00. It is much better to buy as much as you can so that the shipping costs can be lowered. But if you were to pick only one product to start with, then I would start with a stick mix of some sort. A&A's sticky stuff, or sticky hands, etc. Something sticky always sells well for me.

cavity
About how much does it cost to fill a normal head (oak vista for examples sake), and how many caps will they hold? A NW S60 holds @ 377 1.1' capsules "per the Sam's Club website". Don't know for sure though.

lurtsman
I don't know that I believe the website. I run those machines and to get 377 in even in round 1 inch would be a real challenge and would require at the least to barely have the top locked to try to give an extra quarter inch. With a blister display, 250 in round caps fills it fairly well. To the OP. Given how few locations you have, you do not have economies of scale to start running toys and see a reasonable return on investment. You need to be able to buy in larger amounts and know that you can push those toys out. If you buy in small amounts the shipping will destroy you. If you buy in large amounts without enough locations you will have an absurd portion of your capital tied up in product. Keep going candy/gum charity for now. dperry
Listen to Lurts on the hazzards of buying small quantities and losing your shirt on shipping. That being said, I buy my gumballs from A&A when I buy other product. It may be possible for you to buy all your candy and gum from A&A and combine all your shipping. I know they sell Bubble King gumballs (1080 ct is $21.65), M&Ms and Skittles and a variety of other items like Crybaby Tears, Mint gum tabs, Hot Tamales, Mike&Ikes, Nerds Gumballs and Runts. This way you can throw in a lite bag of 1" product and the shipping will not be greatly affected.
