I no longer wish to have a dream!

I cannot take this anymore.......this week 3 nights I have dreamt about bulk vending and my route! Not that I don't like vending but its enough to deal with when I'm awake. Perhaps venting about it here will give me the relief I need to make it stop!

Interesting.  I have been a little obsessed with vending since I got started, to the point that it is driving my wife crazy.  (Ok, that is fun.)

This is just the way I work though.  Even sleeping is influenced right now.

Now this is because that is often what I am thinking of when I go to bed.  In fact it is important that we actually think about what we are thinking about when we go to bed.  (That sentence sounds weird.)

Our brains are generally put onto a course when we go to sleep based on what we are thinking of, so we need to be a little more conscious of what we are thinking those last few minutes before falling asleep.  There are a lot of people who run through all the bad events of the day, right before going to bed.  This leaves their brain stuck on all those problems all night long.

It takes some work, but you need to direct your mind before going to sleep.  A great way to do this is to spend the last half hour before going to bed reading.  Most likely your mind will be on the book when you fall asleep.

Something else you can do is to come up with some ritual you do ever night where you focus your mind on a few pre-determined thoughts.  Generally it is a good idea to keep these thoughts positive.

And sometimes it can help to think of a problem you are having that you need a solution for, and directing your mind to work on solving that problem while you sleep.  Sounds weird, but it does work.

  John,

Honestly I think its stress. I have been absorbing and changing what I acquired over the summer and it looks like I will have another acquisition soon of the same size. I worry about my stops and how things look. Plus I'm out there a lot upgrading and trying to sell additional machines. I had a goal of 1000 heads by the end of this year.........probably won't get it but it will be close.  I'm just being pulled in several directions anymore. Part of the growing process!

I hear ya kai and certainly can relate.  I also worry about what some of these machines look like that I have been servicing for the first time.  I am a stickler for cleanliness and have to lower my standards abit or I will wind up on a flight deck on medication.  I assume you are still working by yourself?  I am but have to make the move to have a kid work with me when I work.  I will pay him $10 per hour for the days I need him.  That's a stressor in itself for me in terms of having to train him and pay him cash......lol.

Anyway.........I am sure you know its all good in terms of what you have accomplished thus far.

  John,

Yes its still only me! I am intertested in finding someone I could take onboard though! I set out a rack last week and really banged up my left arm wrestling with it. I am starting to scratch my head a little though about how to handle more than a few thousand machines. I am really wondering just how vendomatic and folz managed the growth they have experienced. I must admit vendomatic's stuff in my area has been rather dirty and broke down the last few months. I have been wondering if perhaps they are having problems? I know they have shoved racks into a few places that really can't support one.  If I figure it out I'll let you know!

  • 2 weeks later...

I currently still in the learning and research newbie phase but have already found myself obsessed with bulk vending. My mind is on vending 24/7 I'm reading from this forum at least 2 hrs a day trying to soak up as much knowledge as I can. Can't wait to start buying machines next year.

I read the forum for 3-5 hours per day almost every day for 3 weeks as I figured out my plans for starting. There's a limit on how much you can soak up before you need your own locations to help expand your knowledge though.

vendomatic and foltz pay people to take care of a small route, thats why most of the machines

you see are dirty and not taken care of.they have no one to answer to but a boss over the phone.

from the ones i have talked to they realy show a lack of intrest.the one guy i use to know

would sell me plush and other vending supplys for pennys on the dollar.

when you are paid a set price each week, there is a i don't care in your work.each one of us here should be happy we can work for ourselfs and take pride in what we do.it will make us or

break us.i allways said when you put all your money in the bank you get very little for it,

work hard and it will pay off!!!!
