West Coast Vend LLC
Hi Folks. I just wanted to get back to you after talking to Craig C. over a Brand Vendings, (Zoo Mania, etc.). I talked to him a week ago and told him about the comments posted about, Brand Vending. I explained each issue that you guys talked about and how you where not happy with their service, delivery system and communication levels. I told him that many of the members would not buy from Brand Vending anymore. They worked on fixing all these issues and assured me that they have improved their delivery confirmation system with Fedex. They will not split orders between their two locations unless it has been approved by you. They are also going to send you an email with a copy of your invoice. You will also receive a hard copy by mail. He told me he is glad that I told him what you guys think about Brand. He also hopes you give them another chance. They really care about their customers. It's nice having this forum of over 1,700 members when you have issues with a company. Please let me know if you try them again. I want to make sure things are fixed for everyone across the country. T BIRD
Great job Gary. What's Craig's partner's name there? Linda? She sure does not miss a beat making sure to stay in touch with me in terms of what I want and need in product. I am glad they said they have tightened up things. lurtsman
Diane is the other sales rep. Thank you Gary. I really appreciate you talking to them. I was dreading needing to order more product and having to go over each thing they had found to mess up. It's good to hear you had keyed in on each one got them to understand the various problems. I feel much better ordering from them now.
T BIRD
I gotts say though for me, A&A Global is absolutely the best in terms of price and customer service. I know a part of it is because I live in New York and they are in Maryland ( it is Maryland right gang ) but I can give in an order to A&A in the morning and receive the boxes the very next afternoon!! That is so convenient for me obviously.

That is so convenient for me obviously. I prefer ordering from a&a. Brand has zoo though, and zoo hits my demographic, combined with using the circle caps which misvend less frequently can be used with more of my machines. I hope a&a decides to do more circle caps, but I'm no longer concerned to have several suppliers.
dperry
I hope a&a decides to do more circle caps, but I'm no longer concerned to have several suppliers.I keep saying this but I never hear anybody actually doing it.... A&A also sells all their vending items in bulk, ie. not capped. And they also sell the round empty caps too. So you can conceivably buy your favorite items in bulk and cap them in the round caps yourselves.

And they also sell the round empty caps too. So you can conceivably buy your favorite items in bulk and cap them in the round caps yourselves. The round caps I get from brand have a very thin strip of something that holds the ball together. This is an important part to me, because the goal of the round cap is reducing misvends. However, as a follow up, do you know how much you can save per vend if you cap the items yourself?
dperry
My most current A&A pricelist shows 1" round caps at $28 per 1000. That of course is $0.028 per cap. And as an example, the glow-in-the-dark aliens are $5.00 for 100 in bulk which makes them $0.05 per figure. That would make it a total of $0.078 per capped item. But if you buy the bag of 250 capped items, it's $18 for 250 or $0.072. But as with all things A&A, you can get price breaks when you buy in large quantaties. West Coast Vend LLC
I have capped products when they didn't have something in stock already in caps. It is not worth the time it takes to cap hundreds toys. I know they have people that cap product for them every day. If you try doing it you will quickly appreciate those people. It's not fun at all. The fraction of a cent you save is not worth your valuable time. Gary
lurtsman
I had thought I might be able to get 1-2 cents per cap. Looks like the discount (when it exists) is very weak and not at all worth my effort.
dperry
Right, but if all you can vend is round caps as in a 1-800 machine, then this gives you more options.
West Coast Vend LLC
Just make sure if you are using 1" round capsules that the products fit in them before buying them. Something like Monkey'n Around may be to large for a round capsule. The acorn shape allows for larger items to fit. Gary
Jax Snacks
I can cap a 250 count bag in about 40 minutes. I do an assembly line process and not just one capsule at a time. I put 3 or 4 capsules in my left hand and fill and cap each one pretty quickly. If I am motivated, I can get 500 capped in 90 minutes. Just do it when watching a movie, football game or the news or what ever else you like to watch (but never during boring baseball or the NBA since that would put me to sleep). So if I do 2 bags in one night times 3 days per week times 3 weeks per months that is18 capped bags per month. All of the stuff I cap is then mixed with other pre-capped or self vending items usually at a 1 to 3 ratio. So those 18 home capped bags yields 54 total bags for me. I do use the empty acorn caps since the empty round one are more expensive. It's not so bad if you remember the old question. How to eat an elephant? Answer: One bite at a time! dperry
I made the mistake of buying MiniMalz in 2" caps. I'm thinking of recapping them in 1". I think I would have to be pretty desperate to uncap and then recap them tho. Maybe it's just better to put them in a mystery mix.
lurtsman
Right, but if all you can vend is round caps as in a 1-800 machine, then this gives you more options. Have you tried removing the risen, opening the wheel all the way, and removing the larger of the two springs at the front? I've done this to 6 or 7 heads in 1800 machines and so far it seems good. I have not put any of those out on location yet though, just applied the fix I read about the thread on 1800 machines.
Faith Vending
I recently broke the part of the gumball wheel you adjust and screw down on the 1800; by mistake. The hole in the wheel was huge and now vends acorns with no mis vends . Use this with the plastic stir agitator and it works great for acorn caps. That is all I would use it for however. lurtsman
I ordered product from Brand last week. (tuesday or wednesday) and heard it would be shipped that week. I got the e-mail today from fed ex, saying it was shipped today and should arrive friday. Perhaps the post was premature. Brand promised, but never delivered. They did not e-mail me the invoice either, I was under the impression I wouldn't have to spell that out for them. The 16 year old at McDonalds can give me a receipt without being asked. antoniocinisi
hmmm as far as the items shipping late maybe it was so all your order would ship at the same time?
