zanygames
So my nephew, who is ten, has 6-8 locations in FL already. At one barbershop the staff has super glued a quarter to the floor right next to his bulk candy machine. They like to watch the customers try and pick it up. Strangely the sales have skyrocketed at this location for him. The theory is that they see the quarter and think to themselves that they will pick it up and buy some candy. Once they find out that they can't get the quarter, they already have in their mind that they want some candy and they go into their pocket and get a quarter out and buy some. Or they are just embarrassed and buy some candy so they don't look cheap I guess. Anyways, he makes about $50 a month here. Steve
lurtsman
I will consider trying this, if I can find a location that approves it. As a side note, if you are not concerned with getting a kick out and staff will allow it, this might be best on a toy machine in a high traffic area because it should give the kids a good dose of adrenaline to go with their begging because they have it in their mind they can get that toy FOR SURE. They may ask for the quarter twice as hard. It seems reasonable with adults also though. I have to admit if it happened to me, I'd probably LOL on the spot figuring out what happened and walk off, but I'd be very impressed by the resourcefulness. BlueGum
Your clever idea reminds me of the Floor Nickel gag made by SS Adams. It's a nickel attached to a nail. Hammer it into a wooden floor or asphalt pavement, then watch as others try to pick it up. It comes with a plain nail to help start the hole. Profits
At one barbershop the staff has super glued a quarter to the floor right next to his bulk candy machine. Some XXX shop in Sacramento did this same thing at their entrance. Don't ask me how I know.
mission vending
Someone did that at one of my full line locations. Don't know if it made any difference in sales but I thought it interesting that it stayed there for around 2 years before someone finally scraped it off the floor.
