mission vending
Just thought I'd update everyone, a while back I started a thread about appraising a route. Here it is, hope I got it right. http://VENDiscuss.com/forum/index.php?topic=6893.0 Well anyway, just got back from signing the contract. 38 machines on location, a couple of OCS brewers, and a couple of bill changers on location and a few spare parts. One of the locations will more than double in size in the next 6 months due to the closing of a out of state branch. From 26K annually to maybe 50K. Last years sales 189K. This year tracking for 150-152K. Sales decline primarily due to sale of several accounts early in the year. My purchase price includes inventory in machines and warehouse (about enough to fill the machines 1X) and coin mech $$ for 65K. So I feel that it was a pretty good deal. Combined with existing locations I will easily go over 400K in sales in 2010. Maybe even break 500K. Now that the deal is done I've got to get busy reorganizing everything. Including my footnote below.
mxer518
Great to hear! its always nice to land a good deal and feel it was a good decision when the contract has been signed. Why was this person getting out of the business, I always like to hear what possesses someone to ditch a business as fun as this one.

mission vending
I always like to hear what possesses someone to ditch a business as fun as this one. It's not really a lot of fun on those days when it's 130+ degrees in the back of the truck in July and August here in South Texas. Standing in the back under that sheet metal roof kind of makes me feel like I'm a bag of popcorn that's just been put in the microwave, but otherwise it's all good. He has another line of work as an independent contractor and he was at the point where it was time to make a decision as to which direction he was going to go.
