chowchowjailboss
Today, I stopped to service one of my locations at a time when normally, there are no employees in the break room where I have my machine. For whatever reason, the break schedule had changed and everything was running late. I arrived and disassembled my U-Turn 8 select and had the canisters on a nearby table that I use often and cover with a towel. While I was taking the money out, a "lady" walked over to the area I was working and reached into a canister I had sitting on the table, and with her bare, unwashed, hands, reached in and grabbed as many PMM as she could, smiled at me and walked away. I was shocked. It happend so fast and I was so surprised, I was speechless. The good news was there was not many PPM left in the canister so I did not lose much when I threw out the remaining candy. What is the matter with people today? With the H1N1 thing going around why would someone do that to food and candy?
caserri
Great story chow. At least she didn't reach into the coin box and pull out a handful of quarters! That happened to me once. I was servicing a location and the owners little boy came out to "supervise" my collection. As soon as I had the coin box open, he grabbed a quick handful of quarters. The owner just chuckled like it was cute. I politely asked for them back in exchange for some candy but I didn't get all of them. I figured the remaining coins would eventually find their way back in the machine. Just when you think you've seen it all, someone is always there to prove you wrong! There are very few things that will spin me into anger faster than "the-little-kid-who's-a-thief-but-his-folks-think-it's-cute-routine." If some kid snagged a handful of my money, I would be marching them right to their parents, and if the parents thought it was cute or funny, they would get a talking too as well. Kids do things. I understand that. But in the case you described, dad should have been all over the kid immediately, about snagging your $$. Idiot parent. Cute. Grrr. OK. All done now. CandymachinesCom
I really think that is just rude. To bad there wasnt a manger or someone else there to see it, I know its just candy to them but to you its your livelyhood.
sterling
After the fact thinking of quick things to say in the moment is called delayed intelligence, sometimes keeps you out of trouble. In the case of the lady "thanks for the free grab routine." I may have followed her with the "dump out" and say if you'd like a free sample please ask next time. With the H1N1 scare I'm afraid you have cross contaminated all this candy, you can have this, but please next time ask. She might be a little embarassed but she won't do that Golpher again. The Mage
I am they type of person who would have screamed, "What the hell are you doing? You just contaminated all the candy with your dirty hands!. Now do you plan on paying for that, or are you just a thief?" I don't hold my tongue well. davidsurvz
I had a lady come up to me once when I was servicing a machine and say " since you already have that open let me have a handful of candy." I told her it was against company policy and Looked at her like she was a Jack - golpher. She just gave me a rude look and walked away.

In that case my response would be, "Well since your here, why don't you..." Oh yeah, I can't post that type of stuff on this forum.

Paraflier
In that case my response would be, "Well since your here, why don't you..." I had a golden response. But..... I have learned to only give out small doses of my personality at a time.
