Clifford84420
Well I just made a purchase on a small vendstar route. I think it was a fair deal, bought 6 machines on locations 5 free and clear one location gets 10% of Gross. I paid $50 per location and machine. Machines had 4 days worth of change in them (about $5 per machine) and are half full of product. With the purchase I also aquired 3 empty canisters, keys and manual for the machines. Total cost was $300, then take off the $27 worth of change already in the machines, I think I did fair how about you? Machines are in great shape! No discoloration, stands are beautiful, all have spill trays, product labels are in good to fair condition. I plan to replace the labels as soon as the new ones I ordered arrive! This is a new venture for me and the wife, she was not working and I purchased the 7 head Oak stand for her for $200, with product and change (only about $15 worth of change) Have yet to find a location for it, but we will soon. I then purchased the AP Snack vending machine for her to locate at my uncles Tattoo shop, its an older unit but in like new condition, purchased for $75!!!! I was pleased, we went to BJ's and bought product for it, spent nearly $60 to fill the unit, and sold out within a week! Selling the snacks rather cheap though but double cost. Chips 1.5oz are .50, candy bars are $1, cookies and such .60, rice crispies and 1oz fruit snacks are .25 Chashews and Pnuts are .60 Looking to make small product changes on the Vendstars, from his records the Hot Tamales havent been selling well... I will change these to Jelly Belly Sours, Jelly Beans. 10lbs shipped for $30 on Ebay, and man are they fresh! Have sold very well in a single head Oak Vista 1in Capsule machine located at my uncles tattoo shop, 6 beans per capsule at .50, I also put some misc piercings in the machine as it vends capsules. Have averaged $15 a week on the Vista alone! Only complaints we have had is that there are too many tounge rings and not enough jelly beans! Surprised me at .50 a vend for 6 jelly beans! Well I will stop rambling, I am just excited on the new purchase! Love the site, lots of useful information here, thanks guys and gals...
sterling
Congradulations. Your doing it right. Vendstars get mixed reviews here. Mostly bad. I feel however they are a good starter machine, they actually preform quite well with little to no problems. I bought 38 Vendstars to start @ $38/each. I had to clean and place them myself, so $50 placed with 1/2 full of candy is a good deal indeed. I've been bulk vending for two years now. I have 89 machines and am just about to break even on the whole business. Since it is part time I've left poor preforming loctions sit way too long. I've been adding toy machines as much as I can. One thing I always tell people who ask about vending or are just getting into it is, "treat it like a business and you will make money, treat it like a hobby it will cost you money." Best of luck to you.

Clifford84420
Thanks for the pep talk guys, I am trying to get a good route established for the wife, she is "Semi" involved right now, I am just building it up, I'm starting to rather enjoy it too! I currently own and operate a small landscaping outfit, have two small crews. I am treating both of these operations as a "Full Time" job, but a little more towards my company, as it is the real bread-winner right now... So I have missed a few good deals on routes, seeing as I am an owner operator too. But thought I would pass this on to you guys.... Nice vibrant colorful labels. http://myworld.ebay.com/sweetstopvending/ Fair prices too.
