spdydre
I do not know if this is possible or not but I heard that you can purchase routes/accounts from larger Vending companies such as Sodexo etc that they want to get rid of. Does anyone know anything about this or can give me any info ?
Poplady1
If you are interested in picking up a route just call vending companies in your area. I have a data base with the companies by zip code. It has the owners name. I would be glad to run a report and email it to you. That way you know who you want to talk to at the company. Makes the calling much easier. Your question would be, I am looking to expand my vending route, do you have any spots you would consider selling. Many vendors increase their routes by working with local companies. If you really want to go big time quickly just get a Canteen Franchise. mxer518
Can you give a little more info on the franchise option, I have been looking to get involved with come management company's now that my size is to the point where I can handle bigger more demanding locations, any more info you can pass along would be great and I am sure other larger vendors would find it helpful. mission vending
Just do a Google search on "vending management companies" you'll find a ton of them. Then all you have to do is start calling and introduce yourself. Most will require you provide them the proof of liability insurance, 1-2M in coverage and workers comp if you have employees. You don't need to be a big vendor to do business with management companies you just have to make sure you do what you promise and send commission checks in on time. I've done business with a number of them, still do with 2. Some are great to work with others are a pain in A_ _. If you want to know more about specific companies let me know. mxer518
Sounds like the management company I work with that controls the national contracts with the Protocol machine I have. I would assume that the other big company's in the area near me have the majority of these management company's on their side, how hard it is to get locations from them? Are there some specific ones that I should try and avoid as they would be more of a pain that they are worth?
Poplady1
To those of you that have sent a PM about running a local report on your vending opportunities, I will be glad to do it for you. I need to send them snail mail because I can't legally email them. I can only send hard copies. I am running the data on local vending operators, vending equipment resellers, vending wholesaler, product wholesalers, beverage distribution and vending repair. That should give you a good picture of your local vending community. On Vending Management companies like Best Vendors, Vending Solutions, you can get some accounts but most of the large accounts are given to Canteen or Aramark franchise owners. Independents get the ones they feel are too small or outside of the normal route area. If they decide to expand their route area the management company will give you 30 days to remove your machines. I know a vendor out West that has to remove 25 locations because someone picked up the Canteen Franchise. So be sure you carefully accept locations and only take locations you can afford to lose. Or when you sign up be sure you ask questions about termination of your vending agreement. Normally they send you an agreement that asks questions like how much commission can you pay on .65 cans .75 cans .85 cans and then the next line is 16oz bottles .90 1.00 1.25. You get the idea. If they get a location for you, the location must agree to your pricing structure. You send your payments to the management company with sales information each month, they keep a portion of the commission and the balance is given to the account. So keep that in mind when you sign up. There are other ways to expand your business, buy locations from local companies or have an experienced full size locating company help. Either of these are expensive and involve work from you too. Blue Moose
