amc-vending
I am setting up the vend-trak system - so far it is pretty good. But would like to know how a person could setup multible machines at 1 location. i.e. soda machine and a snack machine. thanks
Paraflier
I have 3 triples at one location. I just put in 9 different products. I imagine you could do the same if you had a bulk machine and also a soda, or snack. Just pull all the products from your product list?
amc-vending
i figured I could do that - but was hoping it would be machine 1 - product 1-3, machine 2 product 1-3, etc... if not do a work around. thanks
vendtrak
AMC - The two ways to work this are: 1. Enter one location in Vend-Trak and treat the multiple machines as "one" in Vend-Trak. 2. Enter multiple locations for each machine (i.e. Pizza Joint - Snack, Pizza Joint - Soda, etc.) From the feedback I get from other users, I think most in this situation go with Option #2. But, as Paraflier mentioned, #1 works just the same. It may come down to how you want to see it reported. Thanks,
Paraflier
I might use option #2 if I had multiple TYPES of machines at a location.. (2 bulk candy, and a soda, and a crane) But since I just do bulk (for now....) I like the 'same location, multiple products' way. That's just me though..... And many people have probably wondered if I was stable.

amc-vending
after checking with the state and cities around here - the state has 1 tax code for non-persiables and 1 tax for persiables. same for each city - all different rates. In Quickbooks , I have had to setup 14 different tax codes based on product sold - how would I set that up in Vend-Trak ??
vendtrak
amc - Wow, that is quite a unique situation with a lot of different rate combinations! Vend-Trak currently tracks tax rates for City, State, County, and Other. But a work-around could probably meet the need of your particular situation. We have worked hard to create Vend-Trak a valuable tool that can be used by hundreds or thousands of different businesses. So it has to be generic enough that it can be used by many, but flexible enough that it can be adapted to each business. We strive to make it do all of the basics and also try to enable individual users to make it work for their unique needs at the same time. I provided an example below that, I hope, will help you and provide a way that Vend-Trak could be adapted to work for you in this situation. The best option in this case, I think, is to create routes for this. Even though they aren't true "routes" (in the sense that they are serviced), they are "routes" in the sense that a "route" is just a "group of locations." And since one location can be in many routes, this won't affect your other routes that are used for services. Here's an example: Say you have a machine placed in "Local Deli" in the city of "Allentown" in the state of "Washington". The machine at this location serves perishable goods and are taxed at the city and state at the applicable rate. First, create the following routes: 1. Tax: Allentown - Perishable 2. Tax: Washington State - Perishable Second, add "Local Deli" (and any other locations that fit that tax category to these routes). Then you will have a list of all of your machines that are taxed in a similar manner grouped together. There may be a little bit of work initially in getting these set up; but once it's done, it's done. Third, run a report that shows the income for the route "Tax: Allentown - Perishable" for a given date range. This will show you how much all of the machines in this "route" (i.e. machines that are taxed at the perishable rate by the city of Allentown) have earned. You can use this report to calculate the total tax required. Thanks!
amc-vending
that would work as a work around, kinda figured that is what I would have to do. been so much easier in Texas lol
sbishop
amc - ... And since one location can be in many routes, this won't affect your other routes that are used for services. Great This just saved me from started a new thread. I want to be able to service some machines monthly and some machine bi-monthly. Since I can put machines in more than one route. I can make a route with all the machines and another that just has the monthly ones. Then trade off the routes each month. Thx
