If you don't have the magazine I'd suggest it, there is a lot of information that can benefit beginner and veteran vendors alike. Vended product volume: 2008 $45.6B Packaged cold beverages 53.0% Snack, Confections, Pastry 22.0% Hot drinks 9.0% Vended food 7.5% Ice cream 2.0% Milk 1.9% Cold Drinks (cup drop) 1.0% Bulk Vending 1.0% Cig and cigars 0.8% All other 1.8% Patterns in operating: Owner only 2007, 34% 2008, 35% 20 or more emp 2007, 17% 2008, 16% Cold Drink categories: soft drinks (regular) 33% soft drinkks (diet) 23% water 16% Juice drinks 5% Sports drinks 9% Ready to drink Tea 7% Energy drinks 6% Misc 1% Cold drinks represent 53% of all revenues, a dollar volume decline of 3% and unit sales of 6% compared to 2007. 12oz drinks represent the majority of unit sales. Who said cans were going away? Vended snack and confections showed a decline from 10.6B in 2007 to 10.2B in 2008.
