BluePlate
Hey all, At one point in my life, I did computer repair and the such. I have a pretty good part time thing going on. I finally dropped it. There was always willing to work cheaper than me, or clients wanted me to install a pirated copy of Windows on their PC for nothing. Anyways I have a Dell D600 laying around, just picked up a new hard drive for it. I was considering loading Linux Ubuntu on it. Anyone play around with this? Any good? dperry
I've worked with Red Hat and Fedora and Mandriva and some others that I forget atm. I much prefer linux over windows, tho I've not seen the new windows 7 yet. I have Mandriva Spring 2007 running on my other computer. I really can't upgrade to anything newer because my hardware is woefully out of date. I only have 128MB of memory and a 1.2Ghz processor on that box. It was good for pink tie (Cheepbytes.com repackaged version of RedHat from 2003) but it's totally inadequate for the latest Fedora Core.
