The Mage
Just picked up five, 4-slot Brand sticker machines for $450, with five stands, with four full boxes of stickers, three half full boxes of stickers, one machine with three columns half full, and one of the machines with stickers that have fallen out of the columns, all over the inside. (A lot of organizing work ahead on that one.) The stickers may be from a couple of years back though. (Expired? They taste ok.) Seriously other then Hannah Montana looking young on some of the stickers, (does she still sell?) I am sure the others don't seem as dated. The Hannah Montana may be close to being out though. (Haven't checked what types are in the sticker boxes.) Now I need to make sure everything is up to snuff, make sure the coin mechs work, and clean them up a bit. (Dusty from storage.) Three of the machines have a display on the top that says, "Sticker Mania", but the other two don't have anything like that, and one looks like it is also missing the plastic that covers the top board. 2 may be missing the cover that holds the top and front displays in place, unless they are placed somewhere else. And one looks like it is missing the locks. Three of the coin mechs on one of the machines is pushed in. Not sure if this has anything to do with the columns being empty. (I am new to these machines, so am still learning, obviously.) I think 1 could be put out right now with a little cleaning, another with about an hour of neatening up, and once I am sure the third one works, I would just need to clean it, and add product. The other two, I may need to get parts for, but not sure if they are located somewhere as I haven't taken a very close look yet. If I can find the center piece that holds the displays in place, I will be able to have a fourth machine functional.
JPVendCo.
you can replace the plexiglass pieces from home depot...take the plexiglass out of one that still has it in place, take it to home depot, and they will cut it to size for you. Yup. Home Depot or Lowes is a good place for the plastic. Local price for that plastic sheeting is approx $9 for an 18"x24" sheet at Lowes. They will cut it to whatever size you need for free when you buy the sheet. Don't know what size you need, but if you can, maybe you can get two machine's worth of plastic out of one 18x24 sheet. The Mage
Thanks, but I am actually more worried about the part on one of the machines that holds the plexiglas in place. Brand lists that they have component parts for Nortwestern and Beaver, but they don't list that for their machines. I am assuming I could get the part from them. And maybe a couple of the locks. The Mage
Well I am pretty sure I can find locks elsewhere, but the part, of which I do not know the name, that may be a problem. (Although I am having ideas running through my head that will solve this problem if I can't find the right part.) Brand was supposed to have improved their customer service. Can't see the benefit of annoying their customers.
jayhawk22
You can convert one coin mech on each machine to a quarter column. This would allow you to blow out the old inventory you got with the machines. It is easy to convert a sticker machine mech to a quarter. Also, Flatline has good mystery mix displays to help you get rid of old product. Hannah Montana stickers are definitely dead! Your coin mechs that are stuck in either have a bent quarter jammed in them or they are empty & the weight plate pin dropped down so it will not take any more quarters. You definitely got a good buy! Brand sucks as a company but they do have a good sticker machine.
The Mage
It was the weights that locked them closed, which is what I was hoping. Cleaned them up a little, and used some WD-40 on the coin mech's and locks. I tested some of the mech's, and the weight lock. I was hoping it would work as the last sticker was removed, but unfortunately it works on the next vend after that, so somebody isn't getting anything. Hopefully I will keep them restocked before getting that low, but I know that is not always possible.
lurtsman
Post digital pictures of any problem areas. Brand customer service has earned a bad rep. I'll believe it changed when I experience it.
