lurtsman
As a result of poorly performing locations, and some unwise decisions, I manage to have about 6 unsealed bags of PMM. They are a few months old and I still have not been able to run them through my current locations because there is not a single one that does well with the product. Any creative ideas beyond "eat them"? I'm planning to phase out the product all together. Many of my locations are toy locations, but the break room locations have just done terrible with them. RP/skit/MI and occasionally hot T do okay, but the PMM have bombed for me. I tried opening vends up to 8 to 9 of them just so i could clear the inventory (with the intent of changing product when I finished) but they still won't move. I've consumed several to make sure they were still fresh, and they taste good. I'm not really a PMM guy though, and I don't want my wife eating that much candy. Thanks for any ideas. lurtsman
Donate to charity, get receipt, deduct. Can't I throw them in the trash and still deduct it as wasted product? I've got nothing against giving to charity, but they might be hesitant to take open bags, and if the bags were sealed I'd be returning them to Sams... To be clear, I'm not hating on charity, just trying to clarify the challenges.
cavity
Sorry man, I should have read more closely, thought they were sealed. Getting late. Time for bed.

droyce
Funny how different areas sell different candy. I can't keep enuff PMM in my machines, it is by far my biggest seller. I don't do well with skittles, can hardly give them away. I haven't been doing this long enuff to have to throw anything away. I move things around but I guess eventually you will have bite the bullitt and trash them.
antoniocinisi
you cant get a deduction from these anymore.you can only deduct them once when you buy them,if you have to throw or give them away it wont matter you already got the deduction you were suposed too. imo the only thing you can do is open up your wheels all the way and blow them out.even if you get very little money it is better then the alternatives. Jax Snacks
They are now part of your Cost of Goods Sold expense. Perhaps you could rent them out to someone! Jax
lurtsman
If I rented them I'm pretty sure the condition they were returned in would not be fit for vending
Jax Snacks
Just curious how many pieces you are vending (always a subject of debate)? Is your machine consistent on the vends? By that I mean if you have it set for 6 pieces, do they always get 6 pieces? Or do they just 3 or 4 sometimes due to the smaller opening clogging up occasionally? MMP is my number one selling candy and I can always find places to get rid of it - fast. Maybe try selling them in industrial locations at a higher setting of 8 or 9 pieces - those truck drivers really eat that stuff up and it would be gone in no time! Jax I don't have any of those locations. I had a few kinds of machines, my vendstars were doing 7-8 I thought. I will need to check the serving size on them. My 1800s were only doing 5-6. I think it would be worth having one that blew them out at 9 pieces per vend just to have a way to clear bags.
mainor5251
My 1800's vends 6 MMP per vend opened all the way, took the set screw out of one to see if I could get a little more and it vends 7-8 per vend. After I use up my current inventory of MMP going to be replacing them with M&I's or RP's.
Mettle
Put a sign on the machine so people know the vends are larger. Sometimes all people need is that little push to get them to buy your impulse product. In addition, put little Dixie cups on the machine, that might increase sales also. MrGranger
I'd eat them. Then regret it in the morning.
JLM Vending
That is odd. PMM is my best seller 9 out of 10 times and usually by a large amount

I have enough cannisters for my 1800 machines that when I opened the wheel up all the way I then bent the metal flaps in towards the center so more would go into it.I now use those cannister's for pmm only.
