Steelers thoughts on Big Ben?

Was wondering what the Steelers fan thought about the most recent accusations on their quarterback. I feel like I don't need to hear anymore details or evidence guilty or not guilty he continues to put himself in a position for allegations to keep springing up. Not only does he play in the NFL he is the starting quarterback, its amazing that these young guys are blessed with a talent that can make them rich and famous and they continue to piss it away. And I don't think its Goodell's problem to handle alone, teams need to start holding their players more accountable, how about withhold his first 8 game checks to be donated to a charity to help sexual violence on women even if he's found guilty or not. Just my $.02

Big Ben can do whatever he wants (sexual assault included) and the Steeler fans will continue to look the other way as long as their winning.  Pittsburge country will likely become less tolerant with his behavior (third alleged assault) next summer as the Steelers likely miss the playoffs for the second consecutive season.  But if they win the Super Bowl, by all means, have fun...  You deserve it, Ben!

P.S.  Ben is a multi-millionaire.  He can afford to have these things (and many others like it) swept under the carpet.  Pretty strange for an NFL quarterback so be hanging out in so podunk bar in some poduck Georgia town on some week night.

I'm pretty sure taking his paychecks if he is found not guilty would be theft. As for if he is guilty, who knows. Unfortunately, the jury likely won't know either. The laws concerning what is admissible are designed to reduce the jury's capability to make an accurate decision. If he is innocent, it's sad that his name was dragged through the mud. I think it is unlikely that he is entirely innocent. If he is guilty, he deserves the full weight of the law, to be treated like any other human being who commits the same crime.

He put himself in this position, so even if he is innocent its not sad to me.  You don't hear Manning, Brady or Rivers name coming every year for sexual assualt charges.  Steelers need to cut him and move on, his 100 million dollar arm and 5 cent head is just bringing the organization down.

come on. seriously? you think this guy has trouble getting muff? he's rich. he's famous. why the hell would need to do this? If some chick didn't want to bang him, all he has to do is walk down the street and some other girl would wing her panties right onto his head!

I think shes probably trying to get a settlement.

This is the 2nd set of allegations, so whether Ben was guilty of any wrong doing or not he needs to grow up, he's in NFL QB, he needs to stop putting himself in a position to get this kind of attention.  I think is fair to hold them to a higher standard.

Well I recently read the entire police report posted on TSG. (link below)

I gave him the benefit of the doubt until I read the official report. Now my opinion of him is that he is an un-convicted rapist. Plain and simple.

I have no further use for him or his team if they continue to utilize his services.

As I recall I seem to remember reading something very similar on TSG about some Duke lacross players.  Turned out all of the involved women were lying the entire time.

People are out to get famous celebrities and athletes all the time just looking for money in the form of out of court settlements.  But on the other side of the coin Ben might as well be guilty if he isn't already.....he put himself in the situation and should have known better.  HE is an NFL quarterback, a MULTIPLE SUPERBOWL winning quarterback at that.  Kids and adults the same looked up to him as a role model.

He should lead by a better example, GUILTY OR NOT.

It's pathetic that he can't get laid without settling matters in a lawsuit.  I don't like the 'being famous' excuse because you never hear about Jeter, Pujols, Duncan, Crosby, or even Romo being accused of sexual assault.  Professional athletes can be decent citizens too while avoiding situations that Big Ben cannot.  It's a horribly tragic situation.

All of those guys are "stand-up" people and don't go out and do the "Pub Crawl" opening thierselves up to such incidents.
