gundog
any cheap soda. at least not on a regular basis anymore. back around the holidays something was on sale somewhere every week. I used to try to not buy soda at Sams, but lately that seems to be the cheapest. I havent seen coke on sale around here since the holidays. I just payed $4.28 for a 12 pack of cherry coke zero cans and $6.98 for case of mountain dew cans at Wal-Mart. The bitter-sweet of it is I just agreed to place a machine at 50 cent cans. I think I was just so floored that they were even considering letting me place the machine that I wasn't thinking when the manager asked me about price --I just blurted out well 50 cents is the very lowest I can sell them for. duh??? Learning experience I guess. It was an easy placement so hopefully if it works out I will be able to raise price by summer or so. Here is how I got the stop. I was at another stop I have and I saw a lady walking across a 4 lane highway with at least 4 fountain drinks and a bag. She had just come from the quick mart and was walking into a decent size bank. So the little light bulb goes off- either they don't have soda machine or it is out of service. So I go over to the bank, ask for manager, told him I saw his employee walking across busy highway to get soda, talk with him for maybe 2 minutes and he says yeah, we will do this. This was Tuesday and I am placing machine tomorrow. Dont get much easier than that. I know banks arent high $$ stops, but I have a can soda machine I bought for $175 to put there, this stop is right across the road from another, and both are close to my house. if it does a case a week I will be happy. Anyway, kinda ramblin.
mission vending
50 cents??? Yup that's a lesson learned. Around here the bottlers usually run their specials around the major holidays, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas. Usually 2 weeks before the holiday and the week of the holiday. So when it's on special stock up.
