To accept bills or not to accept bills, that is the question

Hey everybody,

So I was just wondering if anyone could give me an estimate of time, money, difficulty and advantages to having a bill validator on your full line machine.  Since our $1 and $2 are coins I am just kind of curious as to if you think it's well worth it to install them or not.

Thanks

Scott

I see that you are in Canada, so I can't  really help. I know in the US it is a must have to maximize sales, but we don't use Loonies and Twoonies. About the only place in the US to get a $1 coin is by asking for them at the bank, or get it for change in a vending machine:)

There was a study several years ago the showed a DBV increases sales around 30%, I don't know about the $5 bills other than every machine that I have that will take them has several in there each time I service the machine.

I have no idea with you guys using loonies how much of an increase but I'd be willing to bet you would see an increase. If it's worth it or not, that remains to be determined.

Where should I look for instructions on how to install one?  Is there videos or something you would recommend?  I think I probably would see about a 30% sales increase with one and that pays off pretty quickly if i can install one for around $100.

I talked to one company and they said they have cheap refurbished ones you can buy for 60.  That's what I'm gonna get for my dixie narco 276.  Your not gonna get cheaper then that I think.  I believe it is a late 80's DBV, they said it works fine and is refurbished by the company.

As far as for hooking up, I thought they were easy to hook up.  Just plug it in to the coinco or whatever coin mechanism you have.

I am not putting out my Dixie 276 until I get a DBV.  These days I feel like its a MUST.
