I have a lot of questions as someone interested in switching over to bulk, but trying to limit myself to a reasonable number.  I'd like to ask:

To those of you who buy used machines and paint them to look as nice as a new Northwestern machines--what kind of paint do you use and where do you buy it. thanks.

Vend777,

Here's a rather lengthy discussion (5 pages) on refurbishing machines. Any further questions you have maybe direct them to the guys who have done it. Hope this helps.

I am using the hammered metal paint that I got from Walmart on the ones I am refurbishing right now.  All I have been doing is sanding the rough spots with 300 grit and then all over with 400 grit.  It covers really well and gives it a unique look.  If there are some bad spots it will cover them really good.

I also am going to try the truck bed rubberized coating stuff. You can paint right over it.  I think it may take a lot of the work out of it.
