vend777
OK, question on paying commissions to locations. Do you count the money on the spot and pay the owner quarters or write him a check or just bag each location separately and count later and send the owner a check? Or how is the best way to handle paying the commission? Thanks.
whaletail116
I just bag each location seperately like you mentioned and then pay them their commission when I'm there the following month to service the machine.. I've never been hounded over $5 or $10 bucks and if they don't trust you with that, then you don't belong there anyways.
whaletail116
But then again, I'm just a small-town tiny operator. Might be a different game with the bigger ones.
cnavendingofnepa
We always count each selection at the location, total everything, wrap the quarteres, make out a receipt and have the receiving individual sign showing they not only received their payment but also verified the count. This is especially important if you are paying an employee or manager and not the owner. (Just my opinion)
agrantha
I can't wait until I no longer hava a day job. That way I will have time to count commissions. Now I only do charity vending. :-\
mxer518
I will tell you what I do with my full line side of the business is always send out checks on the 7th of every month for locations that have been collected. It is a lot more professional to do commission runs once a month or quarter and not pay on site commissions, we always send a commission report with the checks. sweetlady0665
If you want to keep your location happy you should count the money and pay them at the location. If this is a corporate account and you have several locations to collect you can take the money and send a check to the main office. Although, I still recommend you count the money with them. Get an employee to sign a receipt and then send a check to the corporate office. I hope this helps.
The Mage
I always try to put myself into a good location where if they want to watch me count the money, they easily could. But so far nobody ever has. I try to be very open about it. Admittedly I only have 2 (formerly 3) commission locations.
T BIRD
I weigh the money in front of them. I give them a receipt and quarters right then.
havending
I keep a a bank of 1,000 dollars in rolled quarters in the service van and pay from that. After the trip is over I rebuild my 1,000 dollar bank. I use a money scale to weight and pay on the spot. Then all quarters go into fed reserve bags and when i have 3 or 4 they go to the bank. Fed bags have to be an excat 1,000 dollars and quarters only.
