Iolaus
Some of the ten Beavers I bought from Johnny have recently arrived on my doorstep. Actually, I had four in one shipment two weeks ago, and then four more came yesterday with the keys. I feel like a kid who can't stop playing with a new toy...taking them apart, learning how they work, putting them on stands. It's all so cool, and I've even found sixty cents so far. Let me know if you want that back, T-Bird. I do have a question. On the Beavers, will gumballs vend through the capsule wheel? At least I think a couple of them are capsule wheels. The brush housing has four springs and there is a four-pronged agitator(?) attached. The actual wheel looks the same as the ones I think are gumball wheels. These have five springs and no agitator. Hope I got those part names right. Now I'm trying to get my local SPCA to respond to me. It amazes me that I want to give them my charity money and they don't seem to want to call me back. This is the charity that is the most special to me, so I really want to work something out with them soon rather than going with one of the established vending outreach programs. Hillbilly
I've actually thought about contacting the local animal shelter to see if they would be interested in charity vending. I recently had to put my dog "Duke" to sleep. He had cancer really bad. I had him for 14 years. If the ASPCA won't talk to you, maybe the animal sehelter will. Hillbilly I can sympathize and feel your pain, Hillbilly. I lost my first dog "Diamond" to cancer. We had to have her put down in Dec. 2006 at 13 years of age. She was on chemo for almost 18 months. The Nevada SPCA is one of the local animal shelters here, and the only no-kill shelter in town. I'm not actually sure if they're affiliated with the ASPCA. There's another one, but that is run by the county animal control, and that is a "three days or they're euthanized" kind of shelter. I won't send them a dime, let alone a quarter. Thanks for the link to the Beaver site. I had already looked at the files and think I correctly identified the wheels. I guess I just need to know if gumballs will work with a capsule wheel. I'm not ready to do toys...yet.
Hillbilly
Heh Heh. I noticed that YET. Yeah I want to get in to the toys as well. Also flat vending . Everyone on this board says that is where the real money is. Hard to believe though. Took enough money out of 1 double to get payback on a machine today. I hope it continues to do this good. If you don't get an answer on here just call Beaver tomorrow. They'll tell you.
adkarr24
My chairty is my local ASPCA and I had the same issue as you with getting them to call me back. But I tried to look at it this way, since they run mostly on donations(at least mine does), there is probably one person doing the job of like three people! When I did finally talk to the director of the ASPCA, they were more than happy to hear that I wanted to donate money to them and even wrote me a nice letter to give to businesses if they ask. Just keep trying to get with them. I think it means more to customers (at least it does to me) to have a local charity, rather than something like NCCS that they might not have heard of. Smiley
gumballs work in the cap wheel. they advise you to remove the agitators because they might damage the gum.
