Sources for new Beaver or NW machines

Question -- When any of you experienced vendors purchase new Beaver or Northwestern bulk vending machines, do you purchase them directly from the manufacturers over the telephone, or do you go to a distributor/reseller instead?

If you go to a distributor/reseller, can you identify which ones have worked best for you?

Thanks !!

It is my understanding that it is generally cheaper to go through Sam's club for NW. But for other machines, It is generally better to go through the manufacturer. I usually recommend Oak for their quality and their price and that they have been in business for a long time. However, there is concern about the company's viability right now.

Beaver experimented with some Chinese made crap when they were feeling the pinch. We received some of this crap and it was not pretty. Before I would place an order with Beaver, I would make damned good and sure they were not unloading some junk on your doorstep. Imperrically, I no longer trust Canadians. Regardless of where you meet them worldwide. Quote me on this bias. I can supply numerous instances of their incredibility. Especially with their practices of international trade. Buy your Beavers in the US where at least you have some sort of recourse should you get screwed.

Just my experience. Contact me for a full explanation including emails between our company and Beaver on our dealings. We spent $40,000/freight/mistakes/incompetence  plus with those crooks and were screwed royally. They even admitted the same by email.

Everything made in NorthAmerica---Bullshit!!!

I really do like the looks of the Round Beavers, but after all the info I've received from you guys here (Thanks again very much!!) I've decided I'll be much better off to just stick with Northwesterns and leave the Beavers alone...

You guys are a wealth of information that's unequaled anywhere !!

If you want Beaver go to beaver if you want NW go to them.  Sams does have some good prices on NW  but also has draw backs.  NW has many more options and set ups then sams carrys and if you but from sams you will get the same basic key code that any one who has bought them from sams has.  So  many ppl will have a key to your coin.

On beaver i have never had a problem with their machines.  Best machine on the market.

I feel the same way about all Central Americans and Southern Europeans.

Wait a second, no, no I don't (I tend to avoid racism).  I also think Mr. Weir (from Canada) is a nice guy.  I'd trust him with my wife.

since you are so trusting why dont you send your wife here for a few days.also your lame attempt at takeing a dig at me and james doesnt apply since we are both US CItizens born and raised.he moved out of the country though,so feel what you want about whoever you want makes no differance to me.if we all were the same and of the same opinion this sure would be a boreing world.

A member here on VENDiscuss posted some time back that if you order NW machines through Sam's then call NW directly, you could get the machines keyed alike so long as you told them your order was through Sam's. It was implied that was the only way to get the Sam's NW machines keyed alike. I believe your experience is that they come keyed alike automatically...is that right?

I can confirm your comment about the options being limited through Sam's for NW.

Going directly through NW would get you plenty more options.

PLUS, if you are ordering in bulk (more than just a few machines), you could get a price break through NW that would get the price per machine closer to what you pay at Sam's anyway.

As far as the Beaver machines go, I have some which are older than 15 years now and they are incredibly reliable.  The problem is that some of the newer ones are being made aparently with aluminum flimsy pieces ( i think especially with the Southern beavers).  My friend bought some and has had problems with them after a year.  They are much more lightweight than mine and the lids are already losing their coating/ color.

If you buy a Beaver make sure they are the heavy duty ones made with metal and not aluminum.  And, get ready to pay extra bucks for any replacement parts.  They are very expensive but do last.
