DN 348 SIID?

Recommended Posts

This machine is starting to annoy the crap out of me. I had problems with this machine a few months go. The problem is it will take a bill and keep it in escrow. Shows you have credit. Press a button and nothing happens and you loose your credit. If you wait 30 seconds to 30 minutes it will spit your bill out on the floor (sometimes). It had a Mars VFM3 Val. in it so I put a Brand New Mars (grey plastic) Val. in it. Had same problem so I put a new harness in it and have same problem. I called DN and they said I had a board problem. So I put a new Board in it. All this happened a few months ago. Well I have noticed I haven't been getting many bills from this machine so I went and checked it out today. I caught the guys on break and talked with them about the machine and they said it has been doing this ever since I put the new board in, but not as bad as it did before I put the new board in. Any of yall had a similar problem with this controller?

Not sure off the top of my head but I wonder if I can put MDB acceptors in this machine? I know I will need another harness.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated here!

I have a Dn276 that I took out a coinco mag52 out of and I installed a coinco bp4sx in without a single problem.Any mdb validator should work as long as you can hook it in where the coin changer is.

John

What do you mean by  "as long as you can hook it in where the coin changer is."

My machine is not MDB it has serial communications. You know the old Mars 6000 dumb mech. I was asking does anyone know if I could do away with the serial stuff and go with MDB. I have a older GPL combo machine that I kept having funky problems with (similar to the ones I am having now) and I did away with the serial communications by getting a MDB harness and installing MDB acceptors. So I guess my true question is:  Can I get a MDB harness for a SIID controller?

I have one of those converters sitting on my shelf that I pulled from a machine that I replaced.  Had it in service for only a sort time...but it certainly worked well.

If you are looking for one, let me know and you can have it cheaper then the $145 that's listed on Ebay.

Ive never seen a converter like that. Does it plug into the machine where the existing changer and DBV do and then the MDB stuff plug into it? I was really hoping there was another set of pins on the SIID that a MDB harness would plug into.
