What's up with OAK?

I ordered machines on 2/24 and was told they'd ship the following week.

When I  hadn't gotten any tracking info as of 3/5, I called again.

I was told they'd be shipped the following week (week of 3/8-3/12).

Now it's 3/19 -- and still nothing. Again, I'm being told they'll ship "next week".

I wouldn't be bothered much about this except this is the 2nd time I get this kind of run-around.

My order before this one was also a mess.

I eventually got only half of my order delivered because there had been weeks of delays and the other half wasn't ready yet. I had locations waiting for machines so I took what I could get.

I guess, I also wouldn't be so bothered if I'd originally been told it would be a month before my machines would ship. I could have made other plans. But, when I was told the machines would ship in several days, I expected to have machines by now.

2 weeks ago I was told that the delays were the result of recent lay-offs they'd had in their factory. The rep told me the layoffs were because business was slow.

When I combine my experiences with what I'm told about the lay-offs, the future sure looks bleak for Oak. Anyone else having issues with them?

A vendor in my area told me they went out of business. I dont know how true it is.

Interesting.

I don't think they're out of business because I just spoke to them today.

However, I get the impression they're on their way out...just my gut feeling.

Don't let it be so. I love their machines. Oaks are my machine of choice. I know that the shipping is sometimes slow. I think they only ship one day a week. It's been a while since I ordereed from them, but it always seemed like they shipped on, I think Fridays, regardless of when you ordered. Almost every company is running a skeleton crew to save costs in these touch economic times, which of course results in more production uncertainties. Hopefully things will get ironed out soon.
