vendman0729
So I got my first 2 new locations with Eddie and I just placed my machines in there recently. The 1st one is a transmission shop and the 2nd one is a tavern. I don't think the tansmission place will do very well but I am excited about the tavern as it seems like a god location. I got a few quick questions that I need answered. 1. Is it ok to place a machine by the exit door? Do you guys do that or is it a bad idea. I placed a machine in the tavern by the exit door but I am woried now some drunk guy or whoever can just walkout with my machine. I am thinking about placing it somewhere else. 2. How much do you guys vend for PMM, Mike and Ikes and skittles? After searching this forum, it seems like 6 or 7 PMM and maybe 8-10 for mikes and ikes. My machine gives 11 mike and ikes. Is that too much? How about for skittles and reg MM's? 12-14 I guess? 3. Can anyone tell me how to change the setting for the wheel on a 1 800 vending machine. I have not tried it yet but I need to because some ae giviving too much candy and some are not giving enough. 4. Does anyone here stay away from any kind of MM's in general. The costs are very high. Mikes and Ikes are so much cheaper and even skittles. What do you guys think? Any help is appreciated.
Faith Vending
1. Put the machine in a safe place in the tavern; by the exit and you are just asking for trouble. Unless it is a family place then you are OK. 2.I can only vend 8 max MMP with the 1800 wheel all the way open, most of the time I vend 6; 8-10 m&I and HT's wide open; the rest I put the wheel up against the last notch and vend about 1/2 oz., don't be cheap with your handfuls, you want them to come back. 3.Unscrew the 3 screws on the candy wheel and set into the desired notch or all the way open. Screw the screws back in; line up the wheel with the chute opening; put your finger in the chute opening and it should go up 2 knuckles and then it is aligned properly. The only time I open less than the last notch is with chiclet gum; the wheel needs to be on the 1st notch or even bent in some to vend less. 4. MM's have never been a big seller for me; 2 locations in 2 and 1/2 years have really hit them;then the person lefy and it went back to lousy; you just need to experiment. Mybe others have better results with MM. Hope this helps; feel free to ask questions....lotta experience here.
vendman0729
Thanks Faith vending I went back to the location and the guy was nice. He said I can move a few stuff aound. So I put the machine further to the side like 15 feet to the side of the exit door. I think that it should be ok there except now its infront of the fire tank which I dont know if that matters. It has only been 3 days since I went there and I found 14 quarters in the machine. Whoohoo. The best part is half of them are from the gumballs and the pmm only had 2 quarters which is what I would like. This seems like a $30-40 location. As for my vends, I am doing 6 pmm, 1 gumball of course and 11 mike and ikes. I think that the mike and ikes are a lot but they are also cheap candy so i might just leave it at that to make the customers coming back for more. JEREMYTINA
Keep an eye on those Mike and Ikes. We vend those in about 10 locations, and they tend to stick after a couple of weeks even in a climate controlled location. They tend to pyramid if you don't hit them with a shot of Pam on a spoon for each bag.
