West Coast Vend LLC
I have had a vet hospital for a few years and they do great every month without fail. I sell candy out in the waiting room. Gary
amc-vending
that is what I had planned - I have 1 machine selling candy and was thinking about another for the treats for the cats and dogs. thanks
Kingsrookie
I know the one by me has free treats on the counter. I had to take my lab in one day and thought about it until i noticed the giveaway. Although they did have a candy machine in there but no chocolate or anything. I guess it was so the animals couldnt accidently get into it if it spilled. Dunno if it did good or not. Chocolate would be a big no-no. I hear it's poisonous to dogs. Although, my sisters poodle ate about a dozen m&m's once and had no ill effects. AMC, The vet's I've been to locally all have free treats. But, they're always the milk-bone hard kind. Maybe you could sell the soft meaty kind or the bacon strip looking treats. Some folks baby their pets so much. I'd bet they'd be willing to pay for "quality" treats rather than taking the free generic ones. Some of the meaty ones may fit into a 1.1" acorn cap. I'm sure you could fit a bacon strip into a 1.1" acorn cap by breaking it up. Although, I don't know if this is cost-effective. Some of those treats are expensive + you'd have to add the 2 cents per vend cost of the empty cap.
cavity
Chocolate is toxic but, it takes quite a bit to make a dog sick. A 20lb. dog would have to eat about 1/2 pound to get really sick.
tooldini
Nice idea, they pretty much all give away some treats but it may not matter much, I say give it a try. I have seen some treats that would work well with a normal candy wheel. You can buy them bulk at Meijer.
mission vending
My first thought is what happens when some lady gives her 5 yr old a couple of quarters to quit pestering her and the kid winds up eating doggie treats??
Kingsrookie
Well I assume the parent would be pretty embarassed. I know i would. Maybe because I'm a vendor a well I couldnt get mad. Maybe laugh about it but there are people out there who would be upset about dog treats within reach of a little kid. Then again vet offices place them in the open for free sometimes so the same could happen there.
bacho
I was going to do this when I first started but quickly decided against it. One vet told me he didn't think it was a good idea because of the machine getting knocked over. There's some huge dogs with sharp senses.
antoniocinisi
I have 2 super 80`s set up on a big stand side by side that vends 2 differant kinds of dog treats in a dog grooming place.I think t bones in one and some kind of hamburger patty in the other, but it does terrible.I bought them from walmart put 2 per cap and sell them at 50 cents.since I capped them myself and dont want to uncap them too and I dont have a home for this machine it hasn`t been pulled yet.the vets office may do better.my set up would be a bit harder to knock over since it is much heavier. it sits in a corner and would do limited damage if knocked over, but the potential for disaster is there, like squishing someones poodle if it was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
