sherlock
Pubs, Taverns, Bars, watering-holes...whatever you call them: Do you have any bulk machines in these types of establishments? I've been considering calling on 2 or 3 of these places in my area, but was unsure. I'm sure customers would appreciate something like mint gum before heading home. But, I was unsure about the abuse a few bad apples who can't handle their drink may give my machine too. Any advice is appreciated.
hockeydad10
I have a 3 head machine in a local bar. it's been pretty good for me, it does about $15.00 dollars a month. I installed a vendstar 3000 with in the first 2 weeks they broke the spill tray, i replaced the tray and have had no problems since that first incident. i have since changed it to a 1800 and all has been well. Beach Bum Vending
I have 3 local bars one is best location. It all depends on the owners. If you have good owners and regulars keep an eye on the machines.
kai1836
I have a lot of these. I have triple heads in them and they ave about 20/month. I like them however I have lost a couple of machines due to abuse. In one instance my machine was used as a weapon. If you can handle a little extra risk then bars/pubs/taverns can be well worth it. Also keep in mind you can add services like atm and condoms too if you establish good relations. Good luck
sherlock
Thanks for the advice/info. Sounds like the three of you are doing fine in these places. I'll give it a go. Hopefully, I can get into one or two bars just to get my own experience with this type of location.
Kingsrookie
I had one bar in mind to set up mine but after reviewing it more, I decided it was nowhere near worth it. Definately think my machine would get destroyed. Owner bought one of the boxing machines and it broke in the first two months

Faith Vending
I will not take one unless the machine is in the back room or kitchen area; the risk/reward is not good imo.

dperry
You are all scaring me. I got a bar location from eddie and placed a single gumball machine in it. I'm now wondering if it was a good idea. Maybe putting in a small rack would be better than a single on a pipe stand. Would be harder to move or steal, right? timberframe50
I've got a couple of dozen of these, with the right product they do well. My best triple does 50 every 5 weeks. My worst does 10, only a double. Some of these are in some pretty rough places. I have never had an issue. Of course I also put my worst in these places. Since my original post I've now got two bars. I had come across some dirt-cheap u-turns so I threw them in there figuring I wouldn't care if they got trashed or stolen --- or at least not care a lot. I have a total of 3 u-turns in the two bars. Yes - 1of the bars merits 2 u-turns. These are my only locations of this type and I've only been there for a few months...so my experience is limited to that. But, my experience is all positive and (obviously) one bar is really bringing in some quarters.
bostonvendor27
I have one bar location. It does between 12- 16 per month. (GB's and skittles) It's been right next to the front door for about 4 months now with no problems. The machine I put in was a cheep double I got so if it grew leg and walked away it wouldn't bother me to to much.
dperry
I've got a newish vista 300 in there. I may try to get a cheap Vendstar an swap it out.
mission vending
Guys, Just wondering here but how often does the miracle of units growing legs and walking away occur? It would seem that if it happened often enough that it wouldn`t qualify to be a miracle anymore
dperry
It's happened to me more than I care to admit.
Gerald
Theft can happen anywhere. About six months ago I walked into service one of my vendstars. It was located in a Bank of America break room in Washington. Keep in mind you actually needed a pass code to open the door (so employees only). I found the back door broken and all the quarters missing. When I showed it to the bank manager she said it must have been the janitors. Any way you just never know where and when theft is going to happen but I have several bars ranging from $20-$80 a month. One time I had a spill tray brake, one time I had beer spilled all over a machine, and most recently I had a bar close with my machine stuck inside. But other than that no real problems so I think bars are great.
s.weir
I have a "Pub and Eatery" location that I have a double with Peanut M&M's and Mike&Ikes. I have a feeling it will do well since I went to place it two weeks ago and at 2 in the afternoon on a Monday there was like 20 guys in there. The owner is a lady who seemed pretty nice and had me put my machine by the pool table. I noticed another charity machine in there (a double high u-turn) and it was completely sold out of everything lol! I hope this is a reflection of sales and not how long it has been since the charity was through. I will let you all know tomorrow how it goes. I am ordering 4 more restaurant/ bar locations through KS tomorrow once I have confirmed a few things with my machines and (more out of curiosity sake than anything) checked the revenues from my one double that is placed. I have high hopes for it though!
candyman007
Our live chat girl Ana gave me a report that you've been spending too much time on our website Scott! J/k. Bars are usually pretty big money makers. If the bar is active and your machines not doing well you need to test out other combination's of products. I've seen Mike & Ikes do really well in bars for some reason. I've heard decent things about the Alco-Buddy machines in bars. $60 - $300 / Month. Under $60 is very low I've heard. Regards, Rob http://www.kickstartlocations.com P.S. Been a while since I've been active around here! Good to see everyone!
s.weir
Good to see you too Rob! Yeah I am pretty sure it will do at least average, if not much better. Otherwise I think it's just a matter of product. As for the website comment...yeah,"Side effects of V D such as KS may occur". Ha ha (Why when I type the letters V followed by D without a space the forum changes it to TVF???)
