NW Super 60 -- Question about options

So --

I called NorthWestern this afternoon to find out their current pricing on their Super 60's.

For 10-49 units the base price is $67, you just specify whether you want the louvered, mylar or plain machine front, what you want to vend (so you get the right wheel), and whether you want a drop-thru coin mech or not.  (Their smaller Model 60 is $69.40, $2.40 more!!)

While I had them on the phone I got prices for most of of the 60 Series options which prompts my question.

Do any of you who use/buy new 60 Series NW's pay the extra $$$ to have any of the following options:

Metal Chutes -- $5.25

Anti-piling Springs -- $1.10

Merchandise Tray -- $4.50

Cash-n-Dash -- $8.00

Thanks in advance !!!

When you say you would buy them from A&A Global as opposed to from NW, I assume you mean you'd buy PN95's with their coin box option, right?  Do you prefer the large plastic globe type or the large panel head?   Do you know the current price for those?

  • 2 weeks later...

It took me a while but I finally understand  --  You buy the plastic coin tray from A&A and put that in the NW machine, allowing you to take out the coins in a flash, similar to having the cash and dash option...  Great Tip !!!

I'm sure I had read you could do that in the archives here once upon a time but it didn't sink in till now...

Thanks for the info  :)

I have several nw 60's and the several of the  A&A copy, imo the A&A is the way to go...cost less and is very durable, but buy one of each if your unsure and do your on comparison...im sure you would go with the A&A afterwards

how much is it for the comparable machine from a and a?

Almost $20 less for the PO89 450 from A&A.

That machine is comparable to the NW 60.

I pay around $49 for the PO 89 450.

Look here for my head-to-head review of the A&A vs Oak machines:

http://vendiscuss.com/forum/index.php?topic=8572.0

I called NW for info once and was told it would be approx 2mos before I got my machines.

I can call/email an order for A&A machines and have them here next week.

Sooner you get them -- sooner they can make you money.

So add the additional earnings to the $20 savings you get by using A&A machines.

The PO89 is a great machine...even before you consider the price savings over the NW.

Nothing against NW 60's because I think they're outstanding machines too.

I just haven't had the "Ohhh! That's why NW cost $20 more" moment in my vending career that justifies my giving NW my money.

A&A (and Oak for that matter) machines do all I need them to do for my vending locations.

sherlock:I have some of the a and a global po 8 9 on a rack and I am sadisfied with them.I usually buy  NW since they are made in Illinois.I didnt know there was that big of a differance in price between the 2 machines ,and always assumed shipping would be much better from NW since  I am less then 4h from morris Il as oposed to halfway across  the country.I assumed that would make up for any differance in price ,ecspecially since I started to get them from sams and shipping is even cheaper along with the price of the machines.now I am not so sure.

I dont really like oaks since they dont have a cash and dash and have to take the whole machine apart to get the money, and will probably never buy more.

I have never waited more then a week for machines from NW,I wonder why you were told 2 months wait, that is definately not the norm.i DID HAVE TO WAIT 2 WEEKS FOR COIN MECH UPGRADES one time but thats the most I have ever waited for anything from NW.

The PO89 is a copy of the Oak Vista. The PN is the copy of the NW 60. IMO the PO and the Vista are comparable. The PN and the 60 are not.

I agree 100%. Both A&A and Oak are reasonably priced, and are reliable machines. They offer the flexibilty that vending demands. In addition, a 300 globe size is perfect for candy or gum vending. A bag of candy in a Super 60 just doesn't fill the globe all that much.
