JEREMYTINA
As a newbie to full line, I created a list and surveyed everyone in our first location as to what they would like to see in the machine. Over the last couple of weeks, I have noticed some items are moving well, and some not at all. Here is our list of what is moving , and the things that are not. If anyone has suggestions for product mix changes that have worked for you, I would love to hear them. Working Drinks: Coke can (.65), Mtn Dew can (.65), Lipton Green Tea 16oz (1.00), Power Ade (1.25) Snack/Candy: Regular Lays (.60), BBQ Lays (.60), Oreos (.65), Chocolate Donuts (.50), Big Texas Cin Roll (.65), Pop Tarts (.75), Peanut Butter Crackers (.45), Nutty Bars (.65), Snickers (.75), Kit Kat (.75) Not Working Drinks: Diet Dr Pepper can (.65), Monster 16oz (1.75) Snack/Candy: Sun Chips (.60), Cheetos (.60), Fritos (.60), Famous Amos CC Cookies(.65), Twix (.75), Milky Way (.75), Reese's PB Cups (.75), Hershey W/Almonds (.75), Hershey Plain (.75)
sbishop
It looks like you have one machine. That limits what you can do. You, like me, are stuck the buying the variety pack from Sam's. get the one with snickers. Some sell better than others. if you have the room you can try the pack with the nestle crunch. Until you are doing enough volume to buy candy bars buy the case, your stuck with the variety packs, that includes the chips, sometimes i change things up but for the most part, I buy the basic chip variety and the snickers variety packs. I have a couple of tricks to help move the slower items. 1. let the faster selling items sell out and then they start buying what's left. Be carefull with this one, because you don't want to get the reputation of always being empty. 2. set lower prices for the slower moving items(or in your case, higher for the fast moving ones) This has helped me to sell some items faster. Good Luck, and Welcome to full line

JEREMYTINA
The machine is in a swimming pool wholesale supply company showroom. Ten employees, and 30 customers through the door in the winter, maybe 80+ customers in the summer each day. It's a Sam's Club/ Home Depot type location for pool maintenance guys, retailers, and construction companies.
JEREMYTINA
I am currently grossing about $55 a week from this machine. 60% from soda 40% from snacks. I thought about lowering prices on some of the slower moving items, but I don't know what kind of gross margin I should operate on per item. I eyeballed the last guys prices, and set mine $0.10 to $0.15 higher. I pay a 10% commision on the gross sales to the location, which is why I set price higher. I still think they are lower than they should be, but maybe I am just greedy....
Sparta_Automation
in all honesty...at leas from my location perspective you are low balling your prices. Energy drinks go for $2.50 Candy Bars .85 Chips $1.00 Can soda .75 - .85 (depending on vendor) Bottled Soda $1.25 (16.9 oz) or $1.50 (20 oz) A good rule of thumb for full line is your wholesale cost X 2 and then round up to the nearest nickle...or Quarter as some do. This provides you the cushion you need to pay for spoilage....repairs, occassional free vends and of course the commission. My only deviation from the pricing schedule is if that formula will put the sale cost over $2.50....in those few cases, I sell for $2.50 and just take a lower profit margin since I know that I have some items such as canned soda that I usually pay between .20 and .23 each and sell for .85 each. Hope that helps. Travis
mbicfl
I see that your'e in Florida. raise your prices. Youre killing us. In most places of an employment, You can sell candy bars at .85, chips .60, cookies .70 to .75, canned soda .65 . If youre in a hotel candy bars .90 to 1.00 , chips from .60 to .75 one ounce bags, canned soda .75 to 1.00. As far as what products that sell the best, It is hard to say. I have one location that will sell 18 hershey bars a week, but no Reeses and then another location that will sell 2 hersheys a week, but 16 reeses. JEREMYTINA
The last guy had chips for .50 and candy bars for .65. Soda was .50 in the can and 1.00 for 20oz bottles. I have taken a brow beating for having them where they are. My plan is to raise prices over the next 60 days on the snack items by 5-10 cents.
