Faith Vending
I have to run to work but thought I would throw this out there to see if there is any interest. If you vend toy caps through the 1800 West Coast jerry rigged gumball wheel you know the plastic stir arm eventually breaks. I have found a solution!!! And it works great!!. A friend and I have fabricated a stir arm that is very durable. I'll have more later. Jim

Faith Vending
Attached a pic of the stir arm solution for the 1800 gumball wheels. I have them in use now and they are very sturdy and the paddle bends but do not break. They have replaced all my plastic arms which snapped off when vending toys. If you have a need for this fix let me know.

antoniocinisi
Yes ,please do tell!!!!! Dose anybody vends caps without the stir arm? you can only vend round caps with the traditional 1800 setup reliably.

dapreachaman
Jim that looks like cut pvc pipe. Is that correct? Did you shape a small piece of pvc pipe to fix this?
Faith Vending
I went to my auto mechanic when this problem started to occur. I am not sure what materials he uses, I will find out and let you know. All I know is they work. I needed a permanent fix when all the arms snapped because all I have is 1800's and you cannot vend anything without a stir arm.
mainor5251
Was messing around with a 1800 with a broken stirrer that was broke off flush so that there was not even a nub. Test ran 30 1" DB gumballs, and 30 1" bouncy balls from A&A and here's the results: gumballs vended perfect with not a single misvend, bouncy balls misvended on the 14th vend but was perfect the rest of the time. With these results I don't think I will spend alot of time worrying about a fix for the broken arm at least not till I start vending caps.
Faith Vending
Sorry about lateness but my mechanic has been on vacation. Yes, preacherman it is cut pvc pipe for the arm. Bends does not break. He cuts two knobs into the top of the stem and fits the custom arm into the knobs and secures with a resin/cement mix. The result is offset so the hole can be drilled into the stem. This has been a work in progress. This is only a fix to vend capsules, never gumballs. It has been a life saver for me as all I have at present are 1800's. So you can fix all your broken arm gumball wheels, or sell them to me or have my guy fix them for a small fee. . Any interest let me know.
Faith Vending
Ok we have tested this fix and find it is indeed a solution to this problem. The stir arm might bend but will not break and is solid. So, if you have broken 1800 stir arms and would like them fixed my guy is going to charge $5 to make the repair. He can even repair if the stem has broken as long as you have the stem. Of course, the issue is shipping. If you are interested I guess it would be best to send 5 or more to keep shipping down. If you are not interested I would be interested in buying your broken wheels from you. Please PM me or post any question you have.
