Hillbilly
I fully expected to get the 4 locations out the door this week. But not so. I had 2 service calls to make. An Oak Vista I have at a truck shop was ripping people off and then dumping product on the third vend. I've been working on this machine 2 or 3 times a week. I finally pulled it until I can figure out what is wrong. I am replacing it tommorrow morning with a brand new A&A PO89 450 w/ RP's. The candle shop called and said the gumball machine won't turn. I thought this was strange since this one has the drop thru mechanism. Turns out a nickel and a penny taped together got jammed in it. I think the tape is what actually locked it up. Nevertheless, I still found time to clean 5 Oak Vista's I got cheap. They are going to 3 more locations this week. When I get them there, I will have 25 machines at 14 locations. lurtsman
Sorry to hear about the mechanical problems. It sounds like a strange occurence. I've only had one or two similar events in my year and a quarter running this. (I'm up to about 55 locations now)
mainor5251
This business is not as easy and passive as one might think. You got that right Kelly! But I enjoy every part of it, even the hours of tearing down machines and cleaning them from top to bottom. A bad day vending is still almost as good as great day of fishing. Speaking of which my vacation starts in 2 days and besides getting some more machines out its time to catch up on the fishing. Hillbilly, great job buddy. sherlock
Nice job staying on top of things Hillbilly. I agree with the above post -- a bad day vending is not all that bad. Still beats the hell out of a "good" day working at most jobs. I can't believe the time I spend locating, working on machines, buying/researching product, and servicing locations is my business. It's too much fun to call it "work".
Hillbilly
Yep, I know what you mean guys. I'd love to be able to do it full time. Imagine working all day at something you really like doing.
JEREMYTINA
Call backs are always a pain. I don't mind going out, and have been there the same day everytime, but I always feel like the machine failing reflects so poorly on us. Even with drop through mechs, we have gotten a couple of bent quarters in the last couple months. Nothing like heading out on your lunch break to care of a problem. But the collection every month makes it all worthwhile.
T BIRD
I am having so much fun despite the 12 hour days ( like tody ), the two service calls today for broken mechs, the 20 stops I made, and the bag money at the end of today tht almost gave me a hernia as I made my way into my house. I just lovesssssssss bulk vending.
