DBV for 276?

Recommended Posts

I have a dixie narco 276 pepsi machine which I am trying to place but the DBV currently in it doesnt work well.  The DBV I have now is an Ardac USA 88X5003.  It's one of the old ones I think from like 89.  The changer is a coinco 9300 series.  Anyways theres a company called Gekay Sales and Service in Mass which I'm going to order a DBV from.  But I don't know what kind to get as I am new to ful line.  I just want to makesure that my new refurbished DBV is going to be compatible with my machine.  Heres the options they told me I have,

vfm 1's only-$53

vm w/old 5's-$95

vm new 5's-$135

Send my current DBV to them and spend $35 + parts for repairs.

Well I am just trying to get something cheap as it is an older machine.  Can anyone make any suggestions?  I was thinking I don't need 5's do I?  Also how would I know that their DBV is compatible with my machine?  I want to make sure the adapters/plug in chord is correct.

Also how much change should I have in my machine when testing my DBV?

Gekay is a great place to have them rebuilt, they will usually set up an advance replacement for you where they will send you a referb validator with a label to send the old one back, this is nice since you will not need to wait to have the old one fixed.

If its a single price machine get you a coinco BA30B and a new harness. I updated all my single price machines that had them POS USA validators a few years ago. I went with the set up I just mentioned and have had great sucess. New harness can be had for $20 or so. Where you located in NC? I got a spare harness on the shelf.

im located in cary, nc..............whats a harness and what do i need it for............but also if i get a DBV which only accepts 1's, will it except all 1's or just old 1's............i want to make sure it excepts all 1's otherwise it might be kinda pointless.............how much is a used BA30B............its an older machine so i guess it doesnt make much sense to spend over $80 for a DBV

Ok, Im in Kinston. The harness is the "wires" that hook the DBV to the machine. Yes it will take all ones, or at least the ones it likes lol. When I upgraded mine I bought all the (7 I think it was)BA30B's off of ebay used/refurb and all turned out good but 1 that didnt last long and had to be sent off for repair. I got my new harnesses from a place called The Vending Center in AL. but you can get them off ebay too. I dont recall the harness that the USA's used but Im guessing it is directly compatable with the Mars DBV's you listed earlier. I used to be a big Mars fan, but have kinda changed my opinion and now prefer the coinco electronics. Just seem to get better service from coinco. You say this is an older machine so its most likely a single price machine, and youve allready got a coinco mech. and I bet its got an old Jones plug on it, dont it. This new harness Im talking about will plug in the machine where your mech. does and the mech. will then plug into the new harness.
