bostonvendor27
Right now I'm averaging about one miss vend out of 20 vends. I'm using a gum ball wheel with the riser taken out. What do you guys think? Is this acceptable? I want to try and vend a toy selection out of my triples until I get some new machines but I don't want to risk losing any locations. West Coast Vend LLC
I don't think miss vends are expectable in any ratio. It will only cause customers to stop buying from your machines and cause store owners to get mad at you. Gary
hockeydad10
Had 1 of my machines a oak 2" not vend every other time. The owner of the liquor store tell me it was getting stuck, so I tried the machine and it didn't vend. I pulled that head and replaced it right then. Took the other home and found the wheel was lifting when you turned the coin mech. Found that there was a lock washer under the large washer that holds the wheel down. Reinstalled the correct way and it works great now. I also gave the store owner a few o the toys I vend just in case something doesn't vend they can give it to them right them. Faith Vending
I work at a bowling alley part time and in the game area is a big beautiful new Beaver rack. We refund quarters to kids due to mis-vends on occasion. Even a new machine mis-vends some toys I guess. The GM is irritated at the machine due to all refunds we give out. So go figure, I don't think a 100% vend success is possible. How many mis-vends happen that you never know about?
joebob051977
Too many. I tried to vend 1" GB with a candy wheel and got about the same ratio. I got a similar ratio of misvends with broken agitator. Good luck with it.
Popular Post Mercury
OR.....the kids know you'll refund a "lost quarter" and will just say they lost a quarter......then free quarter! havending
Missed vend can and will happen to every type of machine. But its best to try and prevent then as much as you can because they will get you kicked out of a good location fast. I refund every location all the money that they refund all i as is that the write it down on their calandar or somthing to track it.
JEREMYTINA
I like the idea of giving the location a couple of caps in case anything happens. Prevents them from taking any money out of pocket, and keeps the customers happy. Smart thinking.
bulkjake
I know this topic is old but, I have a good location that claims 2 Oak 1 inch capsule heads are 'not working'. I found 1 of the coin mech sprockets was so loose it was ready to come off. I tightened it and that seemed to fix it. (I ran 10 quarters through it to be sure). The head next to it seemed to miss vend 1 out of every 10 times or so... It is an Oak 1 inch head with a .50 cent mech and capsuled California Gold for product. What can cause this? It's a very good account so I plan on just replacing the entire head with a new coin mech next time I am in. There is not a pac man gumball riser installed on this head. Also, when should a pac man gumball riser be installed? I am guessing gumballs, round capsules, or bouncy balls (anything round right?) Will all of these products vend incorrectly without the pac man gumball riser installed?

If so sometimes removing it will work. 1" Caps, especially ones with heavy or large product, like fast food erasers, will get hung up.
VendingExperts
Misvends are a misfortune!! It's impossible to avoid 100%, however, if you know it's misvending I would fix the problem before you lose a location. I wouldn't place something that I know is misvending. sherlock
Also, when should a pac man gumball riser be installed? I am guessing gumballs, round capsules, or bouncy balls (anything round right?) Will all of these products vend incorrectly without the pac man gumball riser installed? Pacman riser should be used when vending 27mm bb or 850 ct gumballs. Don't assume "round" product requires a pacman riser...any bb bigger than 27mm and 1" round caps do not require it. So, to answer your last question: NO. Not all of those products will vend incorrectly without the riser. Think more "size" than "shape" when deciding if a riser is needed.
davco1
I ran 250 acorn caps through a NW 60 without a single misfire!
GagesVending
It seems like the chutes on NW, Oak, AA and Eagle have a larger opening, so I never have misvends with those. Beaver and Lypc are the only brands I have issues with misvends because the capsules sometimes get caught at the top of the chute.

If teeth on sprocket look like a Y at top then it will misvend.

You should check your machine for timing, be certain that the dispensing wheel hole is placed directly over the hole in the hopper. Check the oak website look under Helpful tips, oakmfg.com it may help you. put a little medium strength loctite when you tighten the sprocket. also follow the suggestion made by one the guys about the hatch mark on the sprocket. Rick Falcon
We always refund between 2 to 3 dollars on every call or sometimes just drop off some toys, this usually keeps everyone happy.
