jamesjmcgough
I think I have mentioned this before but we have a test market program whereby we trial run all new products by our local troop of howler monkeys. We are generally satisfied with this approach because face it, kids are not much different than monkeys. Monkey see, monkey do? I was not exactly prepared for what happened yesterday morning. I went out on the veranda with a new machine loaded with some silly stickers we had bought at the Dollar Store in the US a few months back. We cut up these stickers and have them capsuled locally. What I normally do is place the machine outside next to a few others with different selections and place a couple dozen or so coins on the railing. We wait a couple of hours and then go outside and see what they have selected (we can hear the mechs turning). I took a shower, looked out the window and noticed all of the coins were gone. Great!! test run complete. Opened the door to go check the results and was attacked by a really pissed off howler. He threw the empty capsule at me and was on top of me before I knew what was up. Ten stitches below the skin...another 23 to close up the bite. No anesthetic at the clinic I ended up at. Be really careful what you vend folks!!! mainor5251
Don't know if this is a joke or what but would've been willing to pay the medical bill to see a video of this.
lurtsman
This sounds like a great april fools joke... Otherwise I love the method if the monkey's actually work...
jamesjmcgough
It wasn't the kid who bit me. I'll try the picture again.
Hillbilly
Did you happen to have Monkey Madness in one of the other machines?
jamesjmcgough
Unwrapped my 'dissatified customer' message today. I guess the doc was charging me by the stitch. Got a few extra in there, don't you think? Meeting on Monday on whether to continue to pursue this customer interest trial. Poor guy (howler) who caused the damage comes back at strange times of the day as if he wants me to know he is apologizing. These guys are extremely alert and almost impossible to catch on camera. jamesjmcgough
Medical bill was equivalent $78.00. Experience---not one I wish to repeat!
kai1836
You should just video tape the machines and watch the tape rather than risk being attacked. Nice way to test products though!

mission vending
That looks like it was painful. Did you have to get any preventative vaccinations like for rabies on top of having to deal with the injury? Makes we want to stay here in S Texas, we only have rattlesnakes
jamesjmcgough
They wrote me prescription but I never got it filled. Everything is looking good so far and I have not been foaming at the mouth or straining my chain. Within the next couple of days I will probably take out the stitches myself. At least I can contol the pain myself. I will try and post the procedure on video so ya'll can help me get over the trauma. No more cheap stickers! JEREMYTINA
More then anyone can afford. Well, with the fiscal policy of the Republicans or Democrats, paying for anything now isn't really a question that's asked. It's assumed that it will be dealt with down the line at this mystery date and time. I suppose we'll all wind up indentured servants when we're 80... jamesjmcgough
Wonder what the bill would be under Obamacare? Not really sure what it would have been under the Obama plan. Do you know what it would have cost? I will tell you that the stitches were removed by the original doctor and he did not charge me. I stopped by twice to have it looked at and no charge. Of course the second time I brought them a six-pack and a bag of Lays. There is much more I would like to tell you about our last week and medical issues and socialized medicine but that will have to wait until tomorrow. I'm just too damned tired and stressed to write the post tonite. Hold onto your saddle-horns. When I post tomorrow, you just may be thinking much differently about socialized medicine. The Mage
Well, sorry for getting political, (although not as controversial as Kelly's suggestion about torturing little monkeys by spanking them... that mean Kelly,) but I do know a lot of people are very satisfied with socialized medicine. Problem is they are only seeing the surface, and don't see the cracks forming under the foundation that will later cause the systems to fail. Yes it could be decades before it fails, but it will fail, or it will be stripped of what it is. It is so nice to care about people, but we cannot violate basic economic principles without repercussions. And I am stating this as a person who is currently at high risk if we have any problem that results in a loss of our insurance. One little lapse, and pre-existing conditions may result in paying over $1,000 a month just for medicine, and you can guess at what our other medical bills could result in. As tempting as it is to wait to be taken care of, I prefer the current plan I am on to get into a position where I won't need anyone to take care of us. Dependency is a dangerous thing.
