Start up Costs???

Recommended Posts

Hello, everyone

I just started in December vending and into bulk candy rite now.  But looking to get into soda machine  what are start up costs?  On average?    I know price of machine.  Lets say it can hold 6 drinks  what does it usually cost upfornt to fill a 6 drink machine?    And what percent of commission do most of you give?

Thanks,  SN

I am allocating about $300 to $400 per machine to fill the machines and to fill the coin mechs and miscellaneous costs.  However take what I say with a grain of salt because beverages seem to be alot cheaper there.

Good luck!

okie guys sounds great thanks  Thats why i'm doing this business to generate cash flow.  I use run my own lawn care business in high school but figured I rather do this then that hard labor work. Money is great more volume and faster but work so hard.  I'm on 20 so looking to build this business over a life time.

Okay, guys, sounds great, thank you.

Thats why i'm doing this business to generate cash flow.

I think this was in response to the reply about filling the machines only halfway until you generate cashflow to fill it all the way up.

That is why I'm doing this business, to generate cash flow.

I use run my own lawn care business in high school but figured I rather do this then that hard labor work.

I used to run my own lawn care business in high school, but figured I would go into vending because it is less labor-intensive.

Money is great more volume and faster but work so hard.

The money is great, it is a faster-moving, high-volume business; it is hard work, though.

I'm on 20 so looking to build this business over a life time.

I'm only 20 right now, so I'm looking to build this business up over my lifetime.

Cashflow is a big issue for me right now. I have been expanding soda locations. It has been hard to keep product in the machines. I have been filling them 1/2 full and checking them more often. This has helped, but it is still a juggling act to keep product in all the machine. I am adding 3 more machines and then I'll hold off until I can stock them fully. That will give me more inventory and make expanding easier for the next locations.

bishop,

is this a case where you have more locations than machines, so you're stretching yourself too thin, or did you over-estimate you need for machines, and bought too many too fast, laving you with less money to by products to stock them?
