revive99
Hi Everyone. I have been on this board now for a couple of weeks. I have only done energy vending. While placing a machine at a chinese restaurant today, the owner asked me if I could also place a machine with toys and or stickers and maybe some candy. Any recommendations on type of machine, what product and where to buy? I was going to look on Craig's list for machines but I need some guidance on what to look for. Should the toys be the 25 or 50 cent. Maybe bouncy balls or stickers. I see this as an opportunity to expand and diversify a bit. Any help would be greatly appreciated! joebob051977
Wow, this post could go many different ways. I will give my opinion and others may or may not differ. I would select from one of these 4 manufacturers for machines: 1. Oak Mgf ]http://www.oakmfg.com] 2. A&A Global http://www.aaglobalind.com/ 3. Northwestern Corporation http://nwcorp.com/ 4. Beaver http://www.beavervending.com/index.asp I don't know much about sticker machines to have an opinion on them. I probably would just buy one from A&A global, Northwestern or Brand Vending http://www.brandvendingproducts.com/ As far as toys go, bouncy balls generally sell good. Search "best selling toys" or "popular toys" and that will help you to see what is selling good as far as toys are concerned.
havending
If its a chinese buffet then I would go with a 5 to 7 way rack because these places are great money makers. If its a carry out with less than 10 or so tables then go with a four way all one inch. Un less its a buffet i would NOT do the stickers or tats and here is why. It sounds like this would be your first sticker machine and flat vending is very trendy and unless you have other sticker machines to rotate product from place to place it would be very hard to unload a box of 300 on each slot with out being able to rotate them. Flat vending is very hard to judge and the diff, between flat sales and a good two inch cap are not much at all. Look at the A&A web site and pick out some machines that you like. There is even a price guide on here. Order somthing in your budget and go with it. I know that yiu would like to save a few buck on ebay or cl but really not woth the hassle and you may end up with junk. As far as caps pick out some good looking one inch that sells for .25 and sell those for .50. Bouncy balls are a great idea sell 27 mil for .25 or the 32 mil for .50. For two inch order somthing that will cross gender like sticky mix. glow cross, or one good boy and one good girl item. A&A will tell you that their license items are great but the truth is that their lower prices stuff sells just as well if not better. Price points in the two inch should be .75 un less toy buy some of the 28.00 or under stuff. order all of your product from one supplier at first to hels safe on shipping. last advice stay away from brand vending there prices and frieght will sink you. This advice is from my 15 years of bulk vending experience and my views may differ from others but all good advice on here. Lastly if this account is on charity i would recomend some sort of comm. because if a nother operator sees it on a charity they will steal the account from you. revive99
Thanks for the suggestions. Went to A&A site and they have no pricing. Was looking at the 2001 model. Before I start talking to sales reps, what should I expect to pay for a machine that vends 2" capsules? I assume I can change it over to 1.1" if I want. Also, what is a four way all one inch? Can I stack a small machine with lets say small bouncy balls with a larger machine selling 2" capsules? Mind boggling combos. The restaurant also wanted a candy machine. Was thinking a Vendstar 3000 with Mike & Ikes, Skittles and Jelly Belly gumballs.
Hillbilly
Can you go with a small rack? 3 or small 1" vendors on the bottom for balls, gum, candy and 2 2" machines on top.
revive99
Not sure if they would go for that. Might try it. What would the footprint be?
wevend
Go the Sams Club website and look at a Northwestern Super 60 and Super 80. There are lots of options for each machine there. Northwesterns are great machines and you get great service from Northwestern Company if you have any problems.

cavity
Also, what is a four way all one inch? This can be spun sooooo many ways! But....it's a rack with 4 machines. Typically two on top, two on the bottom(machines that is, get your minds out of the gutter ). All one inch toy capsules.

revive99
Thanks for all the help. Unfortunately the restaurant that wanted the machines called today to take out my other machines because kids were trying to knock it over. The kids were the owner's kids and she just decided it wasn't worth the headache. But now I can do some more research so that when the need arises, I will be ready! The Mage
Unfortunately that should not have been your problem. She should be controlling her kid, not making you lose out when it is her kid that is causing the problem.
revive99
I would agree. But since she's behind the counter or in the kitchen she wouldn't have been able to control them. She just didn't want the extra headache or bother. I don't want to lose a machine. Sucks!
revive99
Hi everyone. It happened again. An autobody shop that I have a machine in has asked me to put a double head with Peanut M&Ms and skittles in. I have the machine (bought it on ebay 2 head on stand) Questions: 1) Cheapest place to buy candy. I've heard Sam's club but before I get a membership and drive 1/2 hour I want to make sure. What is a good price for P M&Ms and Skittles? 2) How much should come out with each 25 cent vend? I assume I can adjust the wheel to give more or less. Correct. So much to learn, hope I don't screw it up!
Iolaus
Check out these two threads for how much to vend: http://vendiscuss.com/forum/index.php?topic=3595.0 http://vendiscuss.com/forum/index.php?topic=2126.0 PMM were 9.14 for a 56oz. bag at my Sam's today. I think Skittles were 5.88 for a 54oz. bag.
revive99
Thanks! Very helpful. I will be joining Sam's as they still seem to have the best prices and I won't have to pay shipping.
