T BIRD
I am curious to see how many of us spend ( some ) time capping toys.
wevend
I buy mine capped. Have too many other things to do. Have never figured it out but is this something a bulk company should consider?
havending
I have capped some times but only if there is a big enough price diff, But I only buy from bulk toy companies. Never off brand companies that sell on the net.

jamesjmcgough
We imported our intial shipment of approximately 150,000 pre-capped product. I am not really sure how many empty caps we imported, but I can estimate that my wife(along with some local neighbors) have capped at least 150,000 in the last year. We probably have another 60-90 left. Really makes sense for us to capsule products here in CR because of the cost savings on freight. We also have folks bring us bulk goods(loose) down in their luggage when they visit. Capsules(empty or filled) must be air-freighted or placed in a sea container. Extremely expensive for freight and import tax.. I also forgot, our last shipment from RIN include about 85K bouncy balls and other uncapped bulk items that totalled about 150K items. This is our only job so we have a lot of time onour hands to pack caps. The Tica neighbors stop by to help just for the socializing aspect. Diane teaches the english and they teach her spanish. We eat, we laugh, we pack caps and everyone leaves happy. Anyone have a capsule extruder for sale? I think we may be able to get the resin locally. lurtsman
James, let me know if you ever get into making your own capsules. I love seeing the supply chain get devoured I have never done it, but I would consider if I found a chance to save a minimum of 2.5 cents per cap. sherlock
For those of you capping - is the savings substantial enough to warrant the time consumed capping or is it that you are buying/capping toys not normally available in vending caps?
Quarter Master
The reason I cap some of my own is because I can't find the product I want already capped. If it's available already done, I've found that's the better way to go as far as time and cost.
pdavid
I cap alot of Chicken Machine eggs because I bought several thousand dollars worth of product for pennies on the dollar. Definitely worth it to me.
