JEREMYTINA
Just out of curiosity, how large an area do your service routes cover? We currently have 55 machines in a 6 mile radius of our home. A few more have extended down to the 8 mile mark south of us on one road. I feel like this should be more dense than it is before we move on to new pastures, but I am not sure. We aren't in an area that is ridiculously populated, and we do have a number of plazas with two or three locations in them. Any insight would sure be appreciated. candyman007
I have some clients that will use a 40-50 mile radius and some that want the machines within 5 miles of their home. If you want to grow fast then start with a larger radius and continually saturate it as time goes on. That way we can make blanket calls on the entire area and continually make call backs as you grow. If you want to grow by just a few locations a month then start with a smaller radius. joebob051977
I keep my service area to about a 30-40 mile radius. I have most of my machines within 5 miles, but, due to the smaller market I live in, 80,000 for the county (city of only 32,000). I am starting to expand in the much larger market which is about 25 miles away (well over 200,000 if you include college students).
JEREMYTINA
I guess it just made sense in my head to stay close to home and branch out as we saturate the area. After the summer's over, we will start by expanding out another 6 miles in each direction. This will get me into most of Tampa, Plant City, and Apollo Beach. I have some software that I have been using to find the zips where the number of homes are most dense for the state, I have also verified the zips where the most businesses are located, so I am ready to go there. We are at the point now that we can't add more than another 15 machines without changing some things in our lives, namely childcare. If we work the route together we can get all of the locations done in about 7 hours.
dperry
I have only 30-somthing locations but my farthest locations are about 35 miles away.
JEREMYTINA
The consensus so far seems to show that I should feel lucky to have so many locations so close.
Hillbilly
115 miles here. I also work a full time job of about 60 hours a week. Somehow I make it all work.
mainor5251
I live in a very small town and drive about 30 minutes to Panama City where all my machines are but 3, I feel there's still a lot of locations to be had before I expand but on the other hand there are some real nice opportunities in the direction I'm planning on expanded to (Panama City Beach) not sure if continuing to saturate current service area would be a better idea then going ahead and expanding to the beach. tooldini
Jeremytina I think you are very lucky I have 9 locations and travel the farthest away at around 15 miles. It is out of the way but I plan to fill in the gaps in the future.

JPVendCo.
I think most of my machines are within 75 miles of each other, but most of them are 40+ miles from my home. I think I have swamped this area pretty good, might start expanding into another market.
mainor5251
Decided to expand and further than I had planned to. Was watching some older episodes of Joel Osteen (televangelist) about uncommon faith and putting action behind your faith so that led me to the idea of placing a few machines in all directions within a 100 mile radius. God has blessed me and my family so far in this venture and figured he will continue to do so which will allow me to fill in the large gaps of my new service area. This will include around 14 counties in 2 states up from 2 counties and only in Florida.
