Hillbilly
Some of my Oak flat panel vendors have a plastic panel that is in the back that acts as a sun screen. Does anyone know where you can get them? I'm not looking for the extra capacity ones, just flat ones.
G-Vending
I saw some on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/4-original-Oak-Vista-glass-panels-gumball-vending-candy-/270540022360?cmd=ViewItem&pt=BI_Vending&hash=item3efd712258
bostonvendor27
Are you talking about the red plastic insert that goes in the back between the corner posts? I might have a couple. I just got a lot of machines and they came with a bunch of spare parts. I'll have to check.
JPVendCo.
these could certainly be made easily. you could buy shaded plexi, and more then likely the place you buy it from would cut it for you.
Hillbilly
G Vending: No those are the regular panels. JP: Yes that is where they go. I'll check with Home Depot or Lowe's and see if they have shaded or colored plexiglass. If not I'll let you know.
sherlock
I have no experience using this with vending machines, but the following works ok with home projects... Home improvement stores sell 2 things you can add to the clear plexi-glass to help you with the need to screen some of the sunlight. One is a film that you apply to make the glass look "frosted". Another is a frosting spray made by Rustoleum. It Looks like a spray-paint can. Either of these options may be available if you can't find shaded glass. However, I don't know if it wouldn't just be cheaper to buy sun-screen panels through A&A or Oak.
Rick Falcon
I have a Beaver globe where the plexi-glass has a small whole could anyone tell me if this could be fixed?
Hillbilly
Rick, I've seen some epoxy before on plexiglass. I'd check at your hardware store. Worth a try.
Quarter Master
Rick, Where is the hole located ? Is it a perfectly round hole or a hole due to a crack ? Alot of globes have vent holes in them at the bottom. This is built in at manf. The reason I ask is because I had another vendor in the past ask me about "holes" because he thought he got some bad globes.
Rick Falcon
The whole is located towards the bottom of the globe , the whole is a little bigger than a gumball, my guess is someone was trying to get free gumballs.
