My wife says I should pass this along to you all and I am smart enough to know somebody out there has thought of this before but here it is

I have a Chevrolet G3500 box van with 223,000 miles on it . Friday the fuel pump went out on it. So after having it towed back to my shop I was thinking I did not want to drop a thirty gallon gas tank that had a quarter of a tank of gas in it. So I located the fuel pump on top of the tank made some measurements and with a circular saw cut a 12" X 12" hole in the floor of the box over the location of the fuel pump. The floor is wood and fiberglass and it happen to be in a place where I stack my 20 oz bottles. Took the old fuel pump out installed a new one, went to home depot bought a couple of steel straps and pan head screws and put the floor back and back on the road.

Elaspe time just under three hours and saved about $500 in labor cost having somebody else do it.

Total cost was the cost of the pump and the steel straps and screws.

The next time I wont even have to have it towed.

I posted this in hopes it would help somebody out.
