G-Vending

That is excellent, I'll have to check my Sam's out tomorrow.

Anyone know how to figure out what the expiration date is on these?  The bags I've seen have no date but some sort of code.

BTW, anyone selling PMM at 50 cents?  I just changed one location to 50 cents, hope it does well (and no complaints).

I am still getting gripes about 6 pieces being vended.  I wish I could put a $.50 mech on a few machines.  Let us know how it goes over time.

We are headed to do our biweekly Sams visit tomorrow.  Thanks for the heads up G.

My partner put the mech on and opened the wheel up all the way, not sure how many pieces it is vending, I will find out.......

My local Sam's Club is out of M&M's.

I have been thinking that I would like to change to 50¢ and (almost) double the size.  I would probably put a little label that say's, "LARGER VEND!" That way people know they are getting more for the higher price.

I may wait until I am ready to upgrade from my current machines though.  But in about 3 years we may not have a choice but to increase the prices.

I did some research and figured this out if anyone is interested.  The code will start with three numbers.  The first number is the year in which the product was manufactured, and the second and third number indicate the week of that year it was made.  The rest of the letters and numbers are for internal use.  The shelf-life is 12 months from that time.

For example:

I have a bag of PMM here with the code 005BMHKP32.  These were made during the 5th week of 2010 and are good for 12 months from that time, or until the 5th week of 2011.

This is directly from the M&M customer hot line.

Our Sam's does not have PMM at the lower price pooint  right now.  The best deal we have going right now is at Publix grocery stores.  B1G1 free on 19.2 oz bag @ $4.53 plus tax.

I am kinda new to the bulk side of vending, i bought a existing route and his machines are dispensing 10-11 p nut m&m,s for a 25cents.  Is that to many?

Depending on what a bag of PMM cost in your area, each vend is costing you 11 to 13 cents.  People are not going to be happy if you lower the quantity they get, unless it's customers of the location and not the employees buying the candy.  The only suggestion I would have, would be to change the candy for a few months to something like skittles or rp only vending 10-14 pieces.

If my math is correct, you are buying them cheaper by the ounce than the Sam's deal.. .11 per oz on the BOGO and .12 per oz at Sam's...

Jeremy, Check your math. I am buying from Sams at the regular price and at 1/2 oz vend my cost per vend is.0840.  9.41 / 112 vends =.0840  225 average per lb 225 / 32 vends =7.03 M&M's.
