mainor5251
Serviced a few locations today, 5 to be exact and collected $250. Finally a good day of collecting. Now just need to get enough machines out to double this amount per day and do it 5 days a week. Will be getting a couple of racks June 18th, I'll see what all this rack and toy mumbo jumbo is about. Not giving up on singles, doubles or triples with candy or gum and charaities . Especially since your expanding into Florida, might not be a suitable rack location left in a couple months. sherlock
Congrats on your great day Mainor. Get those racks out there! I am new to racks myself. This week, I serviced two of my racks for the very first time. WOW! What an experience that was. I'd never felt my backpack (where I put my coin bags) so HEAVY when walking out of a location. Breaking down my rack earnings per machine, the 2 racks blew my per-head average on my singles/doubles/triples out of the water....waaaay out of the water. Though I'm not going away from singles/doubles, I have to agree with havending... I WANT MORE VENDING RACKS!!!!!
T BIRD
Good job Mainor!! Its like a fever that stays with you. It may actually get a bit warmer as you service locations and see more money.. Havending is correct. Racks and toys are the answer. That was pounded in my head by veterans for months and months before I made the move.
sterling
T-Bird is right. Toys and racks are the answer. My average per machine has gone up 6x since my original candy only set ups. Once you start pulling hundereds out of a stop you'll never believe you were once happy with a $20 stop!
mainor5251
Going to pickup 3 racks, 1 NW triple, a couple singles and some doubles, a wizard spiral a bunch extra coin mechs about 20 more machines with no stands and also about 10 cases of toys next month. Can't wait. Got a sweet deal.
Rick Falcon
Mainor if you don't mind me asking where are you getting your racks from? I'm also looking to put up a rack next week.

Can't wait. Got a sweet deal. When it comes to toy racks, I like to quote ESPN college basketball analyst golpher Vitale. "They're Awesome Baby"! It's good to see people moving beyond triple head candy charity vending. Racks will change your vending life for the better! Also, don't forget about the flat vending on those racks! And always try to place a specialty machine (Shootin Hoops, Spiral, Mini Pinball, Gaspump, etc.) next to those wonderful racks.
Jax Snacks
First of all, I don't like to start with a 7 or 9 head rack. They may be overkill in many locations and the startup costs are more. I have more smaller mom/pop locations and don't have those prime K-Mart, Golden Correl, Super Market monster traffic locations. That is why I like to start with a 5 head - 1 two column sticker, 1 two-inch and 3 one-inch machines. An interactive machine can boost gumball or superball sales by a factor of 2 or 3. That is why I always try and place a Shootin Hoops next to the rack. Gumballs and superballs can sometimes be a slow ho-hum type of mover on the rack, but will usually perk up on a separate stand alone specialty machine. I know another vendor that has mini pinball machines and his superball sales have tripled in some places. Most locations don't mind the separate machine and actually like the game concept. I will admit that Spirals are probably the weakest of the specialty machines and may have even fallen out of favor and can be over filled with stale product. I mentioned them since many people don't have access to Hoops or Pinball style machines. The larger racks can take too much time to service and don't necessarily generate more revenue for me. I personally like to limit the service time to 45 minutes for a rack location and I can do that with 5 heads and a hoop machine. Of course the rack can be expanded later on if traffic justifies it. And of course this is just my business model and my .02.
Jax Snacks
Oh My! Yet another rack convert! This rack thing may turn into a new religious cult someday!
sherlock
I will put a shootin hoops full of gumballs up against a super 60 full of gumballs on a rack any day as far as sales go. Not arguing...just wondering: Is that 1 shooting hoops vs 1 super 60 of gb's really a good head-to-head match-up? Shouldn't cost of the machine be taken into consideration? For what a shooting hoops costs (new or used) compared to what a super 60 (new or used) costs, I would think it's more fair to put a shooting hoops full of gumballs up against 2 or 3 super 60's.. The dollar amount invested by the vendor would then be closer to apples-to-apples. The shooting hoops may sale 3x as many GB's, but it also costs 3x as much as a 60. And, the 60 will vend a greater variety of items with only some minor adjustments than the hoops will.
Jax Snacks
It guess it's possible that comparing a hoops to a super 60 is somewhat apples and oranges. But the hoops machine was designed for really one thing - to get people to buy more gumballs or superballs. Gumballs and superballs are your best profit margin for sure. The problem is that people just don't buy enough of them! In some ways, the other rack choices can take away from the gumball/superball sales. So a number of gimmicky machines (such as hoops) were developed to address that problem. There are even electronic version of this gimmick such as Wowies and Coasters. All I can say is that it usually works and frees up a head for other products. Back in day, I used to get hoops for $80 to $100 with the stand. Today it is harder to get any interactive machines at a reasonable price. But if you can get them at a decent price, you should be able to get your ROI in a short period of time and reap the benefits of higher gumball and superball sales. But like anything else, don't over pay for them. There are fewer and fewer suppliers selling interactive machines. Never buy them brand new, they are way way way to expensive. havending
I like to use sports vendors. The have the large globe like hoops but also have wings. mine are set up with the globe for bouncy balls. one wing with a 2 colum advance and a ine inch cap machine mounted ontop of that. then a two inch machine on the right.
