Don't know if you already tried one of these but if you want to be sure use the triple threat. 1. Spary odor free raid around base each service. 2.  Light coat of vase-a-line around top of base where it meets the bottom of the machine. 3. Put a Bay leaf in the cash box.  That should deter them dirty little golphers.

Whole Bay Leaf is expensive!  Safeway wanted $8 for a 1/4 ounce bottle, maybe 20 leaves if you're lucky.  Smart & Final wanted $11 for a 4 ounce jar, the biggest I could find locally, maybe 50-100 leaves.

TGIA = Thank Goodness it's Amazon!  This supplier is selling whole Bay Leaf for $14.86 per pound, if you buy two pounds, you get free Super Saver Shipping.  When my shipment arrives I'll report on the quality of the product.

So I bought the $11 jar of Bay Leaves at Smart & Final today to install on my route, couldn't wait for the Amazon delivery.  The jar was safety sealed.  About 25% of the leaves were broken but not crushed, and the leaves were pungent.  When the jar was open, you could smell them from five feet away.  When locked below the cash drawer, there was no apparent odor in the room, which I left and re-entered several times to check.  I'd estimate this 4oz jar has maybe 500 bay leaves in it, give or take a hundred.  That extra two pounds of Bay leaves is going to last a long time!
